When you have guys who stay all four years some even five you are going to be a good team. Especially tournament time when the better schools have younger teams.

I honestly think that's what he was trying to do at Bama. Trying to get a lot of guys he could develop down the road.

Well he failed miserably at the developing part lol

7 footer Ruben Guerrero from USF is transferring along with four other Bulls. The best player from that bunch is guard Geno Thorpe.

Also, I know Austin Nichols name has come up before. I have confirmed that he graduated and would be eligible immediately according to ESPN

Another SG is Rashad Muhammad who transferred from San Jose State to Miami and was then dismissed from the team after sitting out a year for transfer. He'd be eligible immediately. Averaged 14 pts per game at SJSU.

Big man Sean Obi will grad transfer from Duke. He was a stud at Rice before leaving for Duke where he never played and struggled with injuries.
Take a look at some of these Rice stats though

I wish we would. The guy on BOL, ce1976, who's always been a basketball insider that people believe, said that we're currently not looking at any 2017 recruits, transfers, or grad transfers but if one really good one just falls in our lap we'll take it.

I don't understand why we'd willingly play under the scholarship limit. I can get not wanting a freshman or regular transfer because you don't want to take a future recruits spot, but I don't see any reason to not take a grad transfer who will be gone after one season.

I guess it's possible he feels like we're set at every position and he wants to give Lawson that last scholarship. That's just one scenario I thought of.

quote:I'd take the bird in the hand in this situation. We could take another combo guard that we can develop and step right in after Collin leaves. We could also use a solid big or SG that may can contribute heavily in the 2018/2019 season.
