New LSU defensive line coach Sterling Lucas was in Maryland last Friday to visit five-star edge rusher Anthony Sweeney.

The 6-4, 230-pounder from Olney, Md. (Our Lady of Good Counsel), is rated the No. edge rusher in the country and the No. 1 player in Maryland for the class of 2027, according to 247Sports.

Earlier in the week, Sterling was in Georgia to see four-star edge rusher KJ Green.

LSU currently has two players committed for 2027, including five-star edge rusher Jaiden Bryant from Columbia, S.C.

Our Lady of Good Counsel is a very good program in MD. CHS played them in a home & home a few years back (went 2-0)
