Former Arizona defensive lineman Paris Shand announced his commitment to LSU on Tuesday.

Shand, a sophomore from Toronto, Ontario, will provide immediate depth at the strong-side defensive end spot left behind by Ali Gaye.

The 6-foot-5, 295-pound lineman appeared in nine games this past season with seven starts. He registered 23 tackles, 12 solo tackles, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery this year.
