Former LSU guard Marcus Thornton, who played for the Tigers from 2007-2009, has agreed to a one-year deal with the Houston Rockets. Per YahooSports.com:
quote:Thornton, a native of Baton Rouge, played Kilgore College before transferring to LSU in 2007. He was the consensus SEC Player of the Year during his senior season at LSU.
Thornton has averaged 12.7 points and shot 36.2 percent from 3-point range during his six-year NBA career.
He played for the Boston Celtics and the Phoenix Suns last season. The Miami Heat also showed strong interest in Thornton.
