SportingNews.com released 2015-2016 midseason college basketball awards this week and LSU's Ben Simmons was named Freshman of the Year.
quote:

“Simmons leads his team in scoring, rebounding and assists. He get twice as many rebounds as anyone else among the Tigers. He not only is a prolific passer, but the most spectacular in the college game and perhaps the best as his size to ever play the game.”
Simmons is currently averaging 20.6 points per game and 13.1 rebounds per game.
