LSU Signee Ben Simmons Named HS Player Of The Year

LSU Basketball signee Ben Simmons was named the Naismith Trophy Boys High School Player of the Year on Thursday. Per ESPN:
quote:Past Naismith award winners include Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Dwight Howard, Kevin Long, and Andrew Wiggins as well as others.
Simmons, a 6-foot-9 Australia native, is the No. 1 player in the ESPN 100 for the 2015 class. The Montverde Academy (Florida) forward averaged 28.0 points, 11.9 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.6 steals and 1.5 blocks this past season. He also won the Morgan Wootten Award earlier this week, given annually to the best player on the McDonald's All-American rosters.
Simmons will suit up in the McDonald's All-American game before heading to New York City with Montverde for the Dick's Nationals. He was also selected to the Nike Hoop Summit as part of the World team, as well as the Jordan Brand Classic.
