LSU Takes Series vs. Ole Miss With 4-2 Victory In Game 2, Tigers Go For Sweep On Saturday

BATON ROUGE — Starting pitcher Luke Holman (8-3) struck out nine in 6 2/3 innings, as the LSU Baseball team earned a series-clinching 4-2 victory over Ole Miss (27-27, 11-18 SEC) on Friday afternoon at Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field.
LSU (35-20, 12-17 SEC) built a 4-0 lead through five innings behind third baseman Tommy White’s 3-for-4 performance at the plate that included a solo home run and a pair of doubles.
Griffin Herring earned his second save in as many games and sixth of the season, pitching the final two scoreless frames with a pair of strikeouts.
The Tigers and Rebels complete the regular season with game 3 of the series on Saturday at 1 p.m. CT. The game will be streamed on SEC Network+ and broadcast on the LSU Sports Radio Network beginning at 12:30 p.m.
Friday’s game was moved from 6:30 p.m. to noon CT due to the weather forecast.
