Per LSUSports.net: BATON ROUGE, La. -- LSU was led by a strong defensive performance to shutout UL-Monroe, 5-0, Tuesday night at Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field.
The Tigers will travel to Oxford, MS to take on the No. 12 Ole Miss Rebels Thursday night at 7 p.m. CT at Swayze Field. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU and can be heard on affilliates of the LSU Sports Radio Network.
Starting pitcher Will Hellmers (6-1) earned the win Tuesday night. He worked three innings, allowed no runs on three hits, tallied one strikeout and did not allow a base on balls.
The Warhawks' starting pitcher Tyler Lien (3-2) was charged with the loss. Lien tossed three innings and allowed one run on four hits with three strikeouts.
