LSU Drops Game 2 vs. Missouri, 8-7, Rubber Match On Sunday

COLUMBIA, Mo. – An LSU ninth inning rally falls a run short as Missouri defeats the Tigers 8-7 Saturday night inside Taylor Stadium.

With the loss, LSU fell to 24-16 on the season and 4-13 in the SEC, while Missouri improved to 18-22 and 6-11 in the SEC.

The Tigers return Saturday at 2:00 p.m. CT to take on Missouri in the final game of the series. The contest can be streamed on SEC Network+, and it can be heard on the LSU Sports Radio Network affiliates.

Long ago, a sportscaster said it wrong and it has been copied incorrectly since. As used in this case, the writer is saying that the MATCH being played today will decide the Rubber or 3 Series. Since they are playing a baseball game and not a tennis or cricket match, a GAME will decide the series and is, therefore, the Rubber GAME.
