On the official Masters website, there is a new "Range Tracker" feature this year, which shows what each player did in his practice session. On Tuesday, golf star Bryson DeChambeau hit a whopping 393 range balls, When asked why he spent so much time on the range, he explained...
quote:

"I played the back nine late in the afternoon yesterday, and just felt like I wasn't all the way there with my iron game and felt like I needed to be a bit more precise," DeChambeau said, via OutKick. "Came out here and hit some golf balls, hit however many I hit, it was a lot, and got some stuff dialed in and figured out so that's what makes me comfortable. Once I get that certain feel, play that draw, it's what makes me comfortable."

"I’ve never disrespected Augusta internally," DeChambeau said of the Masters. "It’s the one I want to win. I stand there on the range and hit shots into the sun as it’s going down and I think to myself, ‘this is heaven, imagine being a part of this history’. And I think I will one day, because I have to think that. If I do, and when I do, it will be the proudest moment of my career.”

I always thought hitting too many balls on the range would help wear down their bodies. So many golfers have hip and back issues. Considering half of a golf round is chipping and putting, 393 range balls is like playing over 10 rounds of golf. Just sounds like too much.

Damn, I wish I could average a score of 39 over a 10 round span!
