re: HS / College Sports Check-In

- HS played basketball until the 10th grade and baseball 10th - 12th - Played intramural softball, basketball and flag football at Auburn....
The kid isn't a PG. He's now been at 5 schools in 5 years. Meh. Let's move on from that jobber and be better at guard. the bammers should make him a catch and shoot 2. They don't generally play D anyway so he should be good there....
Not sure getting to .500 is possible with this pitching staff. Seriously, how is our pitching this bad? Whatever we are doing there...we need to evaluate it....

I think the biggest issue is a lack of SEC caliber starting pitching. I've watched a lot of the games and what everyone is saying in this thread is true. Hitting could be more clutch, but starting pitching has to be much better. Bullpen gets over worked, but it hasn't been very good either. We ...

Alabama is better than UNC. I can't believe I'm saying that. They have completely shut down RJ Davis. ...

I'm not giving up on him, but he's not a true PG to me. Which is ok. A year of maturing and getting stronger will help him. if he can learn to finish at the rim he can be a really, really good player....

Holloway didn't look like a PG to me. It's hard to make a PG. His lack of strength, size and athletic ability kept him from finishing better at the rim. If he can get stronger and a little more athletic his game will get better...at the 2. He's just not really a 1....

You can't lose to Yale. No matter who was hurt or out or ejected. SDSU beat them by 30. I didn't get to see the game, but that's a game you can't lose. I felt the SEC was way overrated all year, but there is no way this Auburn team should lose to an Ivy League school. ...
I'm not saying it wouldn't work playing both bigs together, but pretty much no one does that anymore. Some teams don't play any post players....
PG play was awful. Holloway has a long way to go to even be a good college player. I'm not sure what happened with him. ...

I know it's not likely, but we could start SEC play 0-12. Our schedule is just stupid....

Thinking about our guards and their athleticism. Aden Holloway isn't a great athlete or at least he hasn't shown it if he is. Denver Jones is a solid athlete for sure. Not sure if great, but solid at worst. Tre is a good athlete maybe even towards great. KD is an phenomenal athlete. Surel...

Best Auburn hire ever in any sport. He was my fav coach in college basketball when he was at UT. When we hired him I couldn't believe it!...

I know Vandy is good, but wow that was one awful series. Pitching is a problem for sure....

Looks like we're gonna have drive after drive after drive with bigger guards trying to score and or get fouled. I hope we have a plan....

Probably not a starter. We need to get more than 2 or 3 innings per game in the SEC with our starters. Need to get this win today....

[quote] Knecht is one of the best players in the country, and top 2-3 is the SEC. He's been storming up the NBA draft boards, and is solidly in the top 15 draft picks (and moving up). Nobody is stopping him, particularly when he is shooting as hot as he was last night. That kid is a hard working be...
