Just wondering. How many of you could coach defensive linemen for $525,000/yr. I'd figure it out. That leaves recruiting.

I hate the thought of missing on him just because Rocker got bent out of shape at being strung along by a kid he's recruiting.

Browns mom still works at a Walmart I would go to. Her words about why they didn't choose UGA, "one of the coaches showed his true colors".

Considering how awful our goal line defense was last season, this doesn't hurt that badly, imo

We couldn't hold the edge. I personally blame OLB and S (miss a true thumper back there)

Rocker is an average recruiter and not a good game day coach. But he can teach technique and is great in practice bringing the younger player up. But, many coaches can do that. We need a top DL and LB recruiter and someone that can make DL adjustments quickly. Rumph would be my choice. Pay him enough to take a lateral move.

True enough. All the talent in the world doesn't matter if you're not coaching them up on Saturdays.

Chris Rumph should be the answer, open up the checkbook. Chaney should be next Didn't Rumph's son play at UGA. Glad this happened after NSD.

No, his son didn't play at UGA. His son is a part of the Duke '17 class.

Just curious, but how do you know he's not a good game day coach?

I've always associated him as a great DL coach. With the job that he did with so many true freshman this season, I feel those thoughts are confirmed.

The word on him is that he is a straight shooter and old school. Add in his age, and he wasn't ever thought to be the guy to play the recruiting game. Any edge he had in recruiting would be because dads knew his dedication to the game and players wanted to be pushed/associated with a legend on the field.

In a results business, this isn't a shock. But I didn't expect it this quickly, either.

According to the Bama board Rocker was terminated for cussing out Solomon's mom. Not sure I buy that.

It's mostly wishful thinking on my part. I think he did sign his loi but I thought that only "financial aid paperwork"- for lack of a better word is binding.

I'm no rules expert but I'm sure someone will clear this up for me.

Is a LOI binding for the athlete?

Edit: by "financial aid paperwork"- I seem to recall this being binding for an EE maybe? Perhaps there's a difference in an EE and a regular fall enrollee?

You have that backwards. LOI is binding. Financial aid agreements are not

Gotcha. Thanks.

Hence my downvotes...it's impossible to flip AS now. Didn't know.
