I think we should add up all of our running plays for the year where Gurley was active but did not run the ball (Chubb, Sony, Marshall, etc) and divide them by total running plays. Count all of them as suspensions. Then we are in the clear.

The longer this takes, the more inclined I am to believe that we may not see him back on the field for 3 more games. If it was a cut and dry situation with only $400 involved, we would have heard by now.

I was impressed with Chubb's stamina. His conditioning is 2 levels above Gurley's. After 38 carries the kid never even budged his mouth piece, he was breathing like he just woke up.

There was a point in the 3rd quarter when he took himself out for a breather. He went to the sidelines and knelt down and lowered his head for a while. He was worn out.
I think that was after 9 straight rushes and ROWK came in and got his TD.
Then he was OK in the 4th.

I don't see any way it's 3 games. At this point it looks like 2, but I doubt it's more.

-Gurley was suspended by Georgia because of a supposed email that was send from Bryan Allen because he took money for autographs.

-Nobody has confirmed the exact amount even though Bryan said thousands, there is no number, or proof of any money exchange. (That we know of)

-Some reports are saying $398, which constitutes a one game suspension.

-Georgia has a state law that incriminates people from enticing NCAA scholarship students to break NCAA bylaws, and Bryan Allen quickly lawyered up.

I don't think this situation could be any clearer to me. UGA recieved the email from Bryan Allen, confronted Gurley, he admitted to $398, knowing the rules, or was advised to say that number because it is completely untracable, and it only constitutes one game. They also know that its better to pay the price of a minor infraction and hope that its swept away, then get hit later on with something larger. So UGA suspends Gurley indefinitely, submits this information to the NCAA. The rules are very clear on this, the amount of money determines the suspension. They know by now how much evidence there is. Richt is treating this like he treats injuries. "I'll let him play when I'm ready to let him play, and I'll the public know when I'm ready to let the public know".

I'll bet the NCAA has hardly a thing to do with this because of the way Georgia is handling it.

Kolton Houston effed up and said Gurley will play when Richt says he can, then when questioned by the reporter he backtracked. Georgia probably could have gotten away with not suspending him at all, there is probably no proof he took money. Some of you may agree with Richt, others may not, but this is personally what I believe is going on. I think its rediculous, Richt is an employee of State Government, and everything should be public knowledge.

To that end, what would be the point of holding out the best player in the nation? And use valid points, not anti-richt flaming, please.

Latest word on the rivals board is UGA hasn't even turned over all of the info yet to the NCAA. They're holding off because more stuff is coming to light. Likely going to be 4 games or rest of the season, no less.

Because Richt is man of honor and integrity. He is in the business of molding men first and football players second.

My understanding is that Allen is now afraid of the potential lawsuit. He would seem we could easily have him recant any accusation as part of a deal not to pursue the suit. The other guy in the car, also lawyered up, so he will not be saying anything because of the same reason. So I would think UGA would be in the clear to play Gurley. The only thing that I can see as a hold up is if Gurley confessed to an amount greater than $400. In that case, UGA has to hold him out unless they can get the NCAA to make an exception to the stated suspension terms (mitigating factors, self reporting, no evidence, archaic rule, public opinion, Heisman, good of the game, etc,). So my GUESS (complete GUESS) s that Gurley admitted to a larger amount and we are asking for an exception to the stated terms.

but, who knows.

Sounds to me like more of a "don't ask me. We don't know. We'll know when Richt tells us"

Doesn't sound ANyTHING to me like Richt is making any type of decision on his own......

If you don't think Richt would have Gurley on the field the second he's eligible in this situation....well then honestly it doesn't matter what I or anyone else says. But I'll still waste the time in saying that of the various thing to criticize Richt for, thinking he wouldn't play an eligible heisman candidate is stupid.

Are you a troll, or just dumb? CMR is not calling the shots here. I doubt that McGarity is either, at least not in a vacuum. Your attempts to blame this situation on CMR is just idiotic. He didn't cause it, and it's not in his ability to rectify it.

When was this posted? If it's within the last two hours, it's just someone repeating Chip Towers.
