This was over on FSF. Not sure if true, but definitely seems plausible.

Didn't Pruitt run the 4-3 at FSU?

How much of this was Kirby turning us down or McGarity going cheap to get Pruitt at $850k instead of paying Kirby $1.5M?

Don't know...but could you definitely say that Kirby Smart is twice the coach that Pruitt is? He would need to be to earn the money.

Radi says it's a home run hire, especially for $850K.

Time shall tell.

He ran both, but only because he didn't have the players to run a full 3-4 scheme like he would prefer.

Changing his scheme to fit the players...

That's all I needed to hear. I don't care what scheme he uses, he's already better than CTG.

Who says we have to run a 3-4? We didn't start that till Bonehead arrived. Doesn't mean we have to stick with it, plus, we weren't in a true 3-4 most of the time anyway.

Good hire.

More like incredible. Honestly, I just don't get it. Pruitt was DC for just a year at FSU was making 500k and part of the NC winning team. Why would he leave a championship situation to come to UGA? Surely FSU was willing to match our 850k?
