The fans HAVE to step up.

I promise to lose my voice on saturday.

I hope everyone else going to the game will too.

If national title hopes and the fact that we lost the past 3 against USCe doesn't pump our fans up then I don't know what will.

've seen him on campus and downtown a good bit and I've never seen him wear skinny jeans.

Well unless you are with him 24/7 and dress him like his mother when he was in Pre-K how can you be sure what he wears lol? You are taking this wayyyyyyyyy too seriously.

There are pictures of him floating around on the WWW in skinny jeans (and man-purses as well that Rules refers to). See if you can find them if you are so inclined.

Clearly. Still, I doubt I'd be caught making that joke multiple times given how quickly this stuff gets around the interwebs.

our downtown and drinking is just too fricking good. i went to both clemson and south carolina. there wasnt shite to do if you werent at the game. nobody there is thinking about after the game. at our games, people are always talking about after the game. "i wanna get more drunk" is a common phrase heard in the student section.

i think it's annoying as shite, just giving a reason.

It's a reason and it's the main reason, honestly. People often leave at halftime to go downtown or don't even go at all because they'd rather watch the game at a bar.

The last time UGA had a great fan base was the 1970's. When the RR Tracks were taken out of play and Herschel made winning expected our fans went to a polite parade wave and clap after a bice play. There has been no real enthusiasm in Sanford Stadium since then except for the Auburn "fake juice" Blackout..

Old Fogie donors wearing there headsets with blankets on their laps; pissed at the dude standing up in front of them.

Our fans suck. That's what it boils down to. I had fricking goosebumps watching the support Clemson had. And believe me, Dabo Sweeney gets a lot of credit for that.

I'm out of state so flame away if I'm wrong, but if you're out in the real world working for a living it's a hell of an investment to afford season tickets - especially if you factor in your annual donation, travel, etc. Old Fogies are the only ones that can shell out the bucks for season tix....and once they build up their cred they don't ever let them go. It didn't take much money to sit on a hill by the RR tracks.

A guy in my office farms his out to business associates every year. This same guy is in the top 10% of donors but got his money returned for the Clemson game because they only let UGA have something like 5,000 tix. These are the people that never stand up and get pissed if you do.

I would think every school has this issue...maybe our fogies are more quiet than their fogies???

Also, there's something about the culture at UGA where alot of students have an "uncool" issue when it comes to games. When I was there ('89 - '93) it was "uncool" to leave the party and get to the game on time....and "uncool" to stay to the end. This was from the Greeks, Hipnecks, townies or whatever the hell the groups were. Everyone was more concerned about being seen and/or getting wasted than the game itself. The games were a social event...and not about a football game. Of course, we had Ray Goff so I don't know what the excuse is nowadays.

Again, just my observations.

Don't forget, GA banned bottles in 83, I think. Some dumbass slung a handle from the upper deck as i recall. Getting rid of the tracks, while necessary sure hurt the on site party atmosphere.

When I was in school, most people started leaving tailgates 30 minutes before kickoff. And that was 2005. Times change a lot in 8 years? Maybe it's the nerd factor. Higher SAT scores lead to lower admission rates which leads to dorks.
