How the “experts” see the top 4

I’ve been so sick about what happened last night that I could hardly sleep. I told myself that I would stop thinking about it and move on but it’s hard. We probably aren’t getting in the playoffs and it’s hard to even want to after what happened. But it would be a lie to say we aren’t one of the 4 best seeing as how this is NOT SUPPOSED to be about the 4 most deserving teams.
The main thing is next year we will be better. Talent or youth will never be able to be an excuse again. Obviously we could have gotten the job done last year or this year but going forward it’s all on the coaching staff.

There are a lot of folks pushing for us to make it at #4 or even #3 (Herbstreit). Ultimately though the committee wont do it because it'd almost certainly be a rematch and would involve leaving out 2x conference champions. Still - if the committee actually truly wants to put in the 4 best teams then put us in at #3 and let us duke it out with Clemson.
These will be the rankings though:
1: Bama
2: Clemson
3: ND
4: Oklahoma
5: UGA
6: OSU

The eternal love for ND and their refusal to join a proper conference, especially when it's rewarded like this year, will never make sense to me.

You don't "deserve" your way into the playoff. You earn it. We did not earn it.
"Deserve" is a communist word.
Take a break from it all. That is an extreme reaction to a football game.

Still the committee has made it clear that this is about the best 4 teams. Georgia would beat Oklahoma, Ohio State, and Notre Dame. So if we’re ranking the top 4 best teams why would a team that would lose to Georgia be ahead of them?

We don't deserve to go to the playoff. We're better than Oklahoma but they deserve to go.

I agree with you. But, it rankles that Bama was able to sit at home last year and still be invited.
Personally I see ND the way I view that shite team from FL that is undefeated. Neither deserves to be in the top 10. I think Clemson is overrated as well. I think Oklahoma destroys them.

Can’t fault Notre Dame for refusing to join a conference. Blame NBC for giving them an exclusive tv contract. I wouldn’t want to share all that tv money, either.

I'm fine with OU going over us at this point. When Bama puts up 60 on OU's garbage defense, people will talk about how it should've been someone who can hang with Bama. Maybe that'll pay off for us in future years.
