Chubb and Gurley are both just exceptional backs. If I could only have one it would be a really tough decision.

the way I see it is, there isn't anything that chubb can do that gurley can't. But there are some things gurley did that I don't think chubb could.

Gurley is a master of the stiff arm. You don't see enough backs using that technique today, but Gurley was damn good at it. He would create just enough of a gap to make tackling him that much more difficult (assuming you didn't fall on your face trying).

There's a legit opportunity there for Chubb to hit 4,000 yards before he leaves. Just has to have a full, outstanding year next year.

Chubb had two games over 200 yards and had more rushing yards last year than anyone in a georgia uniform not named Walker for a single season. So there's a couple things he's done that gurley couldn't.

There's a difference between couldn't and didn't

And he had 13 straight 100 yard games which tied him with Herschel.

I was just thinking that when I posted the list of UGA's all time season rushing leaders. If we get back the old Chubb I think he has an outside shot at 4,000.

The difference between him and Gurley is that Tud seems to have a little more swag whereas Nick is the quiet workhorse. I see a lot of Herschel in Nick....the kind of "awe shucks" small town type.

When Nick was asked about getting tired and responded with the "I just get motivated to go score so I can go rest" quote I immediately thought of Walker when he told the reporter that "The ball ain't heavy" when he was asked the same thing.

I still think Gurley was slightly better than Chubb, he was just usually injured or sitting out on account of being a dumbass.

Yep, unfortunately a similar pattern with some of best players over the years.

I think he's talking skill-set wise, not statistically.

please tell me that you actually understood the point I was making, because I'm not quite sure you did.

seriously. anyone contesting your point is just someone who enjoys arguing for the sake of it.

The only aspect Chubb might eclipse Gurley in is straight out speed, but both have more than enough to run away from people so it isn't as noticeable IMO.

Chubb ran a 10.69 100m.

Gurley ran a 10.70 100m.

Both are 4.4 40's with Gurley having the fastest time between the two. 4.4 flat vs. 4.44.

If Gurley can comeback with such thunder after his ACL tear I can only imagine what Chubb will do when he's back. I know that his injury was far worse, physically and psychologically speaking, but Chubb just has the mentality and work ethic to overcome this set back.

I'm ready for Chubb's triumphant return to his throne

According to most at UGA, Todd Gurley is faster in the 40 than Chris Conley, which puts him closer to 4.3 fwiw

That is hardly a usable basis to compare 40 times.

That's why I added fwiw

In my opinion, Gurley has a different gear than Chubb on the field
