Not surprised. Gurley was the second best RB in UGA history IMO. Not quite as fast as Herschel but he has a unique combination of size, power, speed and quickness that allows him to run on the inside, run to the outside and turn the corner and break-away speed to take it all the way. And yes, I'm a Gurley Girl.

Gurley was the best rb in College as soon as he stepped foot onto the field vs Buffalo. Kick off return for a TD to start his career. What a stud!

Ditka called him Walter Payton on the ESPN Sunday pre-game show today... I don't think a greater compliment exists in the football world than that one

What an un-athletic goon, the dude never sticks his landing after he jumps 6ft in the air over another human being :jump2:

I was convinced the Rams stole back Schottenheimer from us today. I wasn't mad about it.

Roll your eyes all you want but the issue is statistically very much debatable especially considering Gurley only played in 30 games. The AJC asked the question in this linked article: LINK And while many agree that Gurley might have been ranked just behind Herschel as the 2nd best UGA running back of all time, the reality is his lack playing time due to suspension and injuries calls into question his overall contribution.

Yeah, not really.

I'd say he has knocked Garrison Hearst to number 3.

If Chubb comes back next year and has a huge season then we can debate whether Nick is number 2. He is about 900 yards away from Tud.

Herschel, Tud, Garrison, and Nick are elite backs. Even if Chubb never carries the ball again for UGA he is in my top 4 of the best to ever play the position and I've been watching games since the early 80's. Knowshon probably rounds out my top 5.

That is crazy that Chubb is still so high on the list giving his freshman year and getting hurt this season. I hope he comes back healthy next year and we get to watch him play a whole season. His numbers are going to be insane
