After last years regular season Cheney said he was gonna make some changes to the play calling before the bowl game. He called the same run run pass offense he had all season. He is the weak link and lost what little confidence I had in him. He has sucked hind tit everywhere he's been. His claim to fame has been a few QB's that went to the NFL, other than that his NCAA record is horrible.
A coach, especially in the SEC. should be able to come up with a scheme that can help a defunked area. If the OL isn't blowing folks off the ball, why try to run between the guards. Why not try to spread the run and go off tackle? He seemed to commit all or nothing and we struggled. He needs to be a local buffet watching the game. He will be gone after this season.

It didn't matter where we ran... up the gut or off tackle. It only takes 1 guy to miss his block and the play gets blown up.

A poor offensive line can mask a lot of talent.

Edit to add that the missed block could be a tight end, fullback, h-back, etc..
It is more appropriate to say that we had poor blocking, but the OL was a huge piece of that.

What happens if there are 7 defensive players attacking gaps and the guard is pulling for a double team?

Well he completed more than 50% of his passes so that's impossible.

The worst is when that happens just the same but with only 4 rushing the passer.

What kind of trauma has caused your inability to see costly OL mistakes that have nothing to do with poor coaching?

Try harder. When you can't even acknowledge linemen mistakes, and always choose to blame the coaches for their screw ups, you aren't doing a good job of talking football.

So what happened the last 3rd of the season when averaged over 200 ypg rushing?

Pittman changed the blocking scheme.

I'm of the opinion that it was all of the above. Poor blocking scheme for the players we had, Olineman playing out of position, Oline talent, receivers dropping passes, Chaney's playcalling and a frosh QB. Just a bad situation all the way around.

There was blame to go around, no doubt... for Danielson to say there was no talent around him was ill informed. Starting with two elite RBs, future NFL TEs, NFL Flanker, 3 lineman in NFL camps this year and another lineman who has a shot at the NFL in a few years.

Let's just hope the coaches put the players we have on the field in a better position to be successful out the gate this year.

He's right to some extent. Obviously we are strong at RB but injuries as usual was a factor even there where we have good depth. We also seem to be in good hands at TE. But we are weak on the OL and at WR and those were/are major factors. If we don't improve in the trenches and have receivers who can stretch the field, I'm not sure this season will be that much better than the last.

He's definitely wrong about talent being the issue. He's not wrong about Eason being the problem, though. Like you said, there was plenty of blame to go around.

Unlike you, Gary knows all about those NFL camps. His NFL experience on a real roster trumps your bench riding days at uga.

This is the correct answer. There is rarely ever one deciding factor. Some factors play a more prominent role than others, but for anybody to point to one thing would be a mistake.
I will say the play calling had a lot to do with a freshman QB and OLine playing out of position, and not being able to follow through on blocking assignments and havint two running backs coming off tough injuries. I still believe we will be somewhat frustrated with play calling this year (Georgia fans always are...remember Bobo?) but it will open up a bit.

But, yes. It was
