Makes me sick to my stomach. Is it as bad as it looks? I didn't see it live...
My thoughts are with him and hope for a full recovery.

I keep seeing where people say he had a spinal cord injury but what are the details on it? I swear I thought I heard an announcer say they saw him move fingers/toes.

It's a spinal injury from a collison with Marshall Morgan of all people. He's moving his hands, but could still be bad. Staying in Athens for the night.
Until he moves some toes, I'm going to be worried for him.

Haven't seen an update other than he has slight movement in his hands

Morgan throwing him to the ground probably didn't help, but appeared to be a fluke accident..

His team updated his status. Still in Athens hospital. Movement in both hands only so far.

I hope he gets better and back to normal. Spinal cord injuries are no joke.
On the flip side, Morgan's special teams play (after the kick) will get him a reputation after the past few games.

From a buddy in La. on another football board. Apparently a C6 injury. He was moving his hands but not his legs or feet.
"Southern wide receiver Devon Gales was taken to a local hospital in Athens, after suffering an injury in a serious head-on collision during Saturday's game against Georgia in Sanford Stadium. He had to be carted off the field.
According to Southern, the sophomore from Central High School sustained a spinal injury and will remain at Athens Regional until further notice.
The university and the Jaguar Nation ask the public for prayers for Devon and the entire Gales family during this difficult time."

Scheduled for surgery. He's in good spirits, but it ain't looking great.

I wonder how Morgan feels.
Thoughts and prayers are with Gales first and foremost obviously.
But, I would assume Morgan isn't doing good. Even though it was a complete accident and could happen to anyone.
Probably not the greatest thing for the kicking game to have a heavy outside distraction like that weighing on a kicker's mind.

LINKOut of surgery per the AJC. Neck fractured in a few places. Upper body movement only. UGA flew parents in from BR.

I wonder how Morgan feels.
Like shite. We better score td's so we don't have to rely on him.

Yep, it looks like he's going to be paralyzed from the waist down. :(
Absolutely horrible.

This Morgan talk makes me a sick. A young man might not ever walk again, and you guys are in here talking about how much it's going to suck if we miss a FG because of it. Show some respect.

I think you can have sympathy for the Southern player, yet still also feel for Morgan. Even though he did nothing wrong I am sure that it naturally is weighing heavy on his mind.

Agreed completely, but turning it into "I hope he doesn't miss a FG because of this distraction" is disrespectful.
