I never said one damn thing about field goals but you felt the need to assume shite like an utter a-hole. I hope Morgan understands this is not his fault and that a freak accident occurred.

Calm the frick down. I did not name names, and if I had, you would not have been one of them.

I ended a guy's career. I didn't mean to. It still bothers me decades later. Can't imagine what I would feel like if a guy got hurt this bad.

This Morgan talk makes me a sick. A young man might not ever walk again, and you guys are in here talking about how much it's going to suck if we miss a FG because of it. Show some respect.
Well aren't you just as pure as the driven snow....
Get over yourself. You're the one trying to turn this into a big deal over nothing.
It's not disrespectful to point out that Morgan is probably not in a good place right now mentally. And that, as a kicker, mental focus is a pretty big fricking deal.
Grow up.

Being crass would be factually stating that he made a borderline late block on our kicker and our kicker threw him to the ground after it appears he was paralyzed which didn't make things better for him.
That's the part that will suck for Morgan. The throwing him down part. He will feel guilty about it even though it was well within his rights and happens 100s of times every Saturday.

This is the second time in a week that you've been called out for being disrespectful (RE: national anthem), so maybe you're not the best judge for respect. Just because something is accurate (which I never questioned) does not make it appropriate.

Your selfishness is off the charts here. It's gag-inducing, but predictable. Trying to hijack a tragedy to paint yourself as the self-righteous moral arbiter.
Meanwhile, before I even got to Morgan's situation, I clearly stated that thoughts and prayers should be with Gales first and foremost.
But, my thoughts and prayers are also with Morgan. I hope that he isn't ripping himself apart over this and that he has the support of his family and teammates to help him realize that it wasn't his fault. And that this tragedy doesn't ended up hurting another career.
That would be a shame. Don't you think? Mother Teresa.

3. Lost in the tragic circumstances that have befallen Gales is their potentially devastating effects on the person who delivered the blow that resulted in the injury.
Place-kicker Marshall Morgan collided with Gales at the 28-yard with two minutes remaining in the third quarter after Georgia had scored to take a 48-6 lead. Both athletes met high in a helmet-to-helmet hit, and Gales immediate crumpled and fell on the 30-yard line, where he remained essentially motionless until he was removed via a backboard.
Morgan is listed at 6-3, 194, and is known for his athleticism and strong tackling on kick coverage. He has not been available to comment since the injury.
But it’s safe to say that Morgan could probably use some love and counsel as well. Brad Gaines, a tight end for Vanderbilt, was never the same after Ole Miss defensive back Chucky Mullins was left paralyzed after tackling him in October of 1989. Mullins died two years later.
An ESPN SEC Storied documentary, “It’s Time: The Brad Gaines/Chucky Mullins Story,” was made about the effects that play had on both men’s lives and was released last fall.

I've watched the ESPN story on Brad Gains and Chucky Mullins. It's a very well done piece.

Morgan paid Gales a visit
Hats off to Morgan, I can't imagine how hard this was for him. It had to take a lot of courage to pull himself together and do this just days after it happened.

Here's a quote from the Dawg Nation article about Morgan's visit to the Gales family........
quote:
The unsaid worry – much less important than Gales’ health, to be sure – is how it will affect Morgan going forward. Through four games this year Morgan is 4-for-6 on field goals this season and perfect on extra points. He’s currently second on Georgia’s all-time scoring list.

Hey. Remember when you put on your Mother Teresa super hero costume and wagged your finger at me for simply pointing out the same thing here?

Thing is...it's not like Morgan drilled the guy. The hit didn't look that bad ...plus a 195 pound kicker is probably the least dangerous guy on the field.
Just a shitty deal all the way around.

Gales gets more UGA visitors, named honorary Bulldog Captain...
The FULL story from 'The Advocate' can be found HERE.

Southern wide receiver Devon Gales, who sustained a spinal cord injury in the third quarter of last Saturday's game against Georgia, has been visited by Georgia coaches, players, and staffers throughout the week, writes Les East and Robin Fambrough of Baton Rouge's branch of "The Advocate." Gales has also been given UGA gear and named an honorary captain.
Gales dipped his head to deliver a block on a kickoff return in the game when he collided with Georgia kicker Marshall Morgan. Gales fell to the ground quickly and was taken from the field on a stretcher after being checked out by UGA and Southern's medical staffs. Morgan has visited Gales in the hospital along with Mark Richt, Brian Schottenheimer, and a number of other support staffers including team chaplains Kevin Hines and Thomas Settles.
According to Southern's interim athletic director Roman Banks, Gales will be transported from Athens Regional Medical Center, where he has been treated since the injury and had surgery on Sunday, to the Shepard Center in Atlanta to begin his rehabilitation.
quote:
Georgia officials have been regular visitors for Gales. Coach Mark Richt has visited multiple times, as has offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, whose wife brought food for the Gales family.
Gales was given Bulldog gear and made an honorary Bulldog Captain. David Bowen, an assistant on the Georgia recruiting staff, is a former Central player (2007), and he has visited Gales each day.
