Gales has also been given UGA gear and named an honorary captain.

When all of Richt's good-doing got reported, my first thought was that most coaches would do the same thing. The more I hear, UGA has gone above and beyond to assist Gales and his family. I'm sure he and his family appreciate these little things.

Makes me proud to have graduated from UGA.

another quote I added...
quote:

Georgia officials have been regular visitors for Gales. Coach Mark Richt has visited multiple times, as has offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, whose wife brought food for the Gales family.

Above and beyond and no doubt sincere. Proud to have Richt and his staff representing us in all matters.

Agreed. I also think most coaches/schools would do this, but not to this degree. I feel it's sincere and they're not doing it for publicity. Proud of the UGA family here

I ended a guys career

Played with a guy in HS who would purposely hit guys on the side of thier knee and roll in to them.Saw em injure 3 guys severly. He went on to play at GT and did the exact same thing to Kelvin Bryant (very good RB for
UNC in the 80's)

He had absolutely no remorse for what he did.

Playing our cross-town rival in high school my senior year and their RB was killing us. We decided it was time to get him out of the game. We set up our defense to offer him a run to the left side of our defense. My job as DB was to stand him up, and our left tackle and end were going for his knees.
I met him about 2 yards into our backfield and he left footprints on my chest (see Herschel & Bill Bates) on his way to a TD. My buddy came over and laughed in my face as he helped me up.

Good to see he's moving his toes. That's awesome and an extremely good sign.

I had a friend who suffered a severe neck injury in a car accident several years ago and had the opposite problem of Gales; he couldn't move his arms at all. It didn't look good for a little while, but after months of rehab at the Shepard Center, he eventually regained control of his upper body. Today, you wouldn't know he'd ever gone through that. Says he doesn't have quite the same strength in his hands and arms, but he otherwise looks completely normal now.

Prayers for Gales to encounter the same outcome.
