Coy and Vance killed the franchise...God, they sucked so much dick on the show, and if that picture is any indication, they didn't stop when they left the set.

frick Bubba Watson, he’s a great example of what is wrong with this country. Defacing history because the liberal faction (media) is imposing it’s will. He’s a weak person to succumb this, but we all know it’s a political move on his part. I’ve never owned a rebel flag, but those who believe in it’s heritage have the right to wave whatever the frick they want. Not that Bubba cares, but I’ll never root for him again.

what the frick does one have to do with another!?!?? What does an old coat of paint on the roof of a 40 year old vehicle that will barely ever be seen by anyone besides yourself have to do with you thinking all men are equal!??

This type of thing is why racism persists. While the black community ignores significant self induced problems with single parent birth rates, under education, crime, poverty, etc. the race peddlers point the finger of blame at everyone else .....and continue to drum up "non" controversies like th flag, Trayvon, etc. ...with the help of limp ignorant celebrities like Bubba.

All this does is piss everybody off....

Exactly. The most dangerous thing to black people is other black people.

Weird. Watson would not be hurt one bit by keeping the flag on the car as a tribute to the show. His fan base demographics is likely very top heavy on Southerners. Very low on blacks and the SJW crowd.

Leads me to one conclusion. Bubba has thoughts on running for some kind of political office after his PGA career is done or starting a business. Champions Tour or a political career or a business. Right now, he is uncertain which way he will go.

He is insulating his future self from attacks that he supported racism via symbolism. Now....nobody can say "you kept the symbol of oppression on your personal property back in 2015.....racist." He is just doing what these other politicians and business owners are doing today, only, he is doing it today to ward off future accusations.

I doubt Watson even thought of this himself. He was probably advised to do so by someone who walked him through the possible future implications. One might consider that there are immediate implications as well. Like his major sponsors allowing him to make this grand gesture instead of dropping him and causing embarrassment. Unfortunately, I do believe that it not only probably occurred,....but likely occurred.

Probably a lot at play behind the scenes that we will never know. It is a sad age when one can't own an old TV show car without having their entire livelihood possibly turned upside down by a mob.

If that's the case he should sell it. But instead he still wants his little piece of memorabilia but is going to alter it to appease voices in his ear. That's the weakest move of all the ones he could've made.

Granted....we're not talking about Franklin's eyeglasses here but like it or not that show was iconic for southern kids that grew up in the 80's. frick you Bubba...you don't deserve to own it...

or......more people like Watson (people with a social platform ) could speak out against the hypocrisy of it all ? Instead of falling in toe with the faux outrage corporate hooligans, these figures could easily express their "own " personal opinions on the matter, many of which would personally align with my own, but they won't because they're slaves to their want and greed for more. They're nothing more than corporate whores. frick em !!!

This sentence is, of course, taken directly from The Declaration of INdependence.

It's not rocket science here..... The South fought in defense of this american principle. And the north fought against it.

There is no controversy over this. It is simple fact. Which is why it is simply ignored.

Because if you don't ignore it..... you just might realize that the flags flown by the South represent Liberty, Self-determination, and Resistance to centralized power. While the "american" flag was (and is still) flown by those who hate these american ideals with all their being and are willing to murder and destroy in order TO PREVENT THEM FROM TAKING ROOT.

I agree it is about political correctness and marketing oneself. We see it all the time with individuals who are talented but reach celebrity status because of success they achieve within their occupation. Whether it's musicians, movie stars, or athletes, I often find myself saying isn't it enough that you just do your job well--why do you have to drag politics into it? I've never been one to boycott though--I'll admire them for what they do well while disagreeing with their views on the issues.

They do risk alienating a portion of their fan base by either succumbing to pressure or actually believing that in the long run they will be viewed in a more positive light for what they perceive as being on the right side of an issue. But nowadays it seems as though it is a risk many are willing to take.

When NASCAR joins the political correctness movement you know we have truly reached the end of the road. The Southern 500 used to be promoted by using the Confederate Flag--this weekend they are wanting fans to turn in their Confederate Flags and exchange them for American flags. Drivers including Gordon and Dale Jr. have gotten swept up in the movement . LINK
