Braves were PISSED the "Coons" were funded and they've been trying for years for renovation dollars...Spent $125 million of their own funds on up keep.

They also get a huge portion of their revenue through stadium receipts because their TV deal is one the worst in all or professional sports.
The HOUSTON ASTROS will make about 8 times the TV
revunue of the Braves next season.Where do you think the Dodgers get all that money for free agents?

TV contract for the Braves has about 8 more seasons left on it.

As bad as that sounds that has been going on for generations dating back into the old Fulton county stadium days across the street.

Big Emma Darnell ain't too happy at the moment.

It's out now I'm fricked!

It has everything to do with the ownership. Blank has a deep network in place in side the city, add in the Blank Foundation and other charitable stuff he does around the city and it is pretty easy to see why he got what he wanted.

On an unrelated note if you need another reason to hate Liberty Media they recently acquired 27.3% of the world renowned provider of awful Cable/Internet service, Charter Communications

Great. Let's continue to ignore the southern part of the city and let it fall into disrepair. This is a brilliant idea.

The Braves have zero obligation to try and help the dying part of the city. this is simple economics. The Braves goal is to run a profitable business and field a successful team and this move helps on both accounts.

Maybe not but you'll get clipped pretty good
at the new facility...especially with the size of the place. They'll still probably have $8 dollar beers.

Can anyone list all of the known reasons why they are not renewing the lease?

An idiot on facebook is saying this is racially motivated and I want to show him how stupid that is.

From what Ive read, they wanted the braves to sign a new 20 year lease. Braves tried to negotiate a large renovation into it, they wouldnt move.

Now if they would just find a suitable location for another airport north of Atlanta and I'll never have to cross the I-20 boundary of hell again.

Who is going to split the bill for this move?

Answer: Cobb County Government.... According to an article I read today.

What does this mean for Cobb County Citizens?
Answer: Yes, you guessed it, your tax dollars are paying for all of it...

Are you CCC still happy about the move?

How bout ticket prices going up 60%?

What about concessions going up 20%?

How about the limited parking and the cost increasing 40%?

Again when I find out where I read the article I'll post it ASAP.

Honestly, I'm more than thrilled even if these theoretical price increases happen. Why? Because the stadium's literally going to be right down the street. Price of parking? Don't have to drive to the stadium. Concession prices going up? I'll get to eat at home or around the stadium. Hell, I'll be saving more money to go see a Braves game than all of the price increases combined.

Combine that with increased property values where I live, and I'm making out like a bandit even after tax increases.

Woe is me.
