What form of tax are they going to propose? Property?

If I had to guess I would say municipal bonds, hotel tax, sales tax, food/beverage tax etc.

I am almost certain that they would not get away with passing it off as a property tax, the backlash would be insane.

How bout ticket prices going up 60%?

What about concessions going up 20%?

How about the limited parking and the cost increasing 40%?

Again when I find out where I read the article I'll post it ASAP.

I could not find any of this information in the article, the only numerical values I saw were related to the overall cost of the stadium and how they believe it will be paid for

quote:

UPDATE #2: The Atlanta Journal Constitution is now reporting (no named sources, just “we’re told”) that the Cobb County stadium would involve $450 million in public money, $200 million from the team.

UPDATE #3: Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed says $450 million in subsidies for the Braves is too rich for his blood, and he “wishes them well.”

There is literally nothing about ticket prices, parking, concessions etc. Obviously ticket prices will increase (supply and demand), only an idiot could contest that, but to just throw percentage increases around like that seems a little premature.

Meh, I was actually looking forward to the article since I couldn't find that information when I looked for it on my own earlier.

I was so excited when I saw this. It will be much better than the Ted. The only people that have a problem with it are the blacks.

This "plan" is so full of holes. What a joke. There is no way that area is going to support the increased traffic with the current infrastructure. This is going to be a world-class clusterfrick. The $650MM is not even going to begin to cover any of that. Have fun, Cobb County

Hellfire! born and raised off of Highway 92, stuff has definitely been turned upside down in the past 10-15 years. I used to be able to ride my dirt bike from my woods all the way up Arnold Mill Road before they tore everything up with and replaced it with subdivisions, shopping centers, etc.

Where are you from originally?

It's all good man, during my early years I learned that subdivisions = an overall increase in the local talent. Also the fact that there are now actually restaurants/businesses downtown is nice, instead of just Ace Hardware. As much as I would like to bitch and moan about overall increases in traffic, the area is 10x better off than it was even 10 years ago.

That's the dumbest shite ever. If the ghetto wants to get to Cobb County, all they have to do is hop on the CCT here in Midtown and take their happy asses up there.

Agreed... It's already there other than E. & N. Cobb & a few pockets in Smyvinings... Cumberland, Akers Mill, Windy Hill, Atlanta rd, 120 loop, Delk, Powers Ferry, Roswell rd.... are already very transient/apartment laden, ethnically diverse thoroughfares...
