The whole "if they continue to recruit me" thing makes it sounds like he was mad that he wasn't getting enough attention. If that's the case then I'm fine with him being gone.

It sounds like Smart is giving him a heads up that there might not be room in this class for him and he is giving him plenty of time to shop around before signing day. We are in the drivers seat for McBride and Warner, and I feel pretty good about one of Grant, Rice, and Britt.
Comparisons have been made to Kimbrough in regards to the fact that Dixon is a thumper and sure tackler, but there are question about his ability to be an every down linebacker in the sec.

The problem with Dixon is that he doesn't really fit anywhere position-wise.

I thought though that this was kind of a package deal with DeAngelo Gibbs. How does this affect the situation with Gibbs?
But as noted, if this is about the kid's ego...well...we can't waste our time with big egos unless they've got 5 stars by their name. And maybe not even then....

I've seen multiple references to the idea that he may have been asked to think about safety/star type role as we're looking like we're in good shape for some other LBs that will fit the system better. Unfortunate, and hopefully doesn't cost us a shot at Gibbs, but who knows. Most of us are likely going to need to check out mentally on recruiting for a bit I think, as this time of year it starts to get chaotic for most teams without any real clarity until much further into the season.

Good News...was very strange that he had Bama at the top, visits UGA and then commits to Michigan the next day (i think). Guessing he will be a NSD type of guy...hopefully we show out this season for him. I dont think we are going to take too many DL this year.
