If we're going to lose them, better there than to another SEC school. Better to keep top tier talent out of Boom's hands as well, particularly on defense. If we can avoid him stocking up on significantly better talent than is currently in Columbia, it will be an uphill battle for him and they should stay quiet more or less.

I can't see the Fromm-Murray comparison. Fromm is a comfortable pocket passer. Judging by Murray's old Hudl videos, he was strictly a roll out passer in high school. In college before his junior year Murray really struggled getting comfortable in the pocket.

I think Fromm is going to be better than Murray ever dreamed of being. Eason had better play well.

I don't think you know who Murray was.

Finished his career with SEC career records for completions (921),
passing yards (13,166),
TD passes (121)
and total offense (13,562),
and is second in the SEC in career pass attempts (1,478) ...
Became the first QB in SEC history to throw for 3,000+ yards in four straight seasons ...

You might want to at least put quotes on the first part because it was kind of confusing at first.

That's what I'm saying. If Fromm is a larger framed Murray he could end up being the best QB we have ever had. For some reason he just has that Murray feel to him. He will sit behind Eason for 2 years though, then he will be battling Trevor for a starting spot and if he can't win out we might never know. Might not be so bad to loose Trevor to Clemson if Fromm is gonna be as legit as I think. He will be a 4 year player just like Murray. Alabama really lost out on this kid could have led them to a few more Nats for sure

You people have Murray overrated. Murray will never see the field in the NFL. He tended to be wildly inaccurate in big games. Murray's interception and fumbles were the primary reason for losses several times in huge games. Sure, he was a four year starter who amassed a lot of yards and statistics but he was never a champion. A. J. McCarron is a much better QB.

To give Murray his due he was, without a doubt, the toughest QB ever to play for Georgia and he loved UGA. Murray was a DGD but he wasn't a world beater.

You switch those two and Murray does just as good if not better. We asked him to win games. They asked McCannon to manage them.

You're a fricking idiot. I hope everyone who reads your posts dismiss everything you ever write.

I have no idea how any LEGIT UGA fan can say that. You suck.

I graduated from UGA in the 70s and I been a Georgia fan even longer. I'm free to express any opinion that I hold. A lot of fellow old-timers get really pissed when I write that Vince Dooley wasn't a very good coach but that's their problem.

You don't win as many as he did and not be a good coach.

I understand what you are saying, but isn't that much more due to the teams around them than the QB himself? I have always hated assigning value to a QB because of a championship or lack thereof. There have been too many great QBs that have not gotten a championship, and too many mediocre ones that have.

Jim Plunkett, Doug Williams, Jeff Hostetler, Brad Johnson, Trent Dilfer and Joe namath all won Super bowls.

Are you arguing they were better than Dan Marino, Jim Kelly, Warren Moon, Fran Tarkenton, Dan Fouts, YA Tittle and Sonny Jurgenson?

One group won a Super Bowl. The other did not.

I'm an old timer and I agree about Dooley being overrated. He was good, but not great..

However, do you think Buck Belue was better than Murray?

(I get passionate about some subjects and now I am derailing the recruiting thread....again. My apologies. This would make for an interesting subject for its own thread)
