Everything about your review is on point, except for this.
His voice was essentially the same without the helmet.

Vader's was the same. Kylo's wasn't.

Nicely done on the review.
This, though I did like it a lot. The new guys make me look forward to VIII.
Seems to be unanimous distaste for Carrie Fisher's looks, except from me. She looked good for 59, sez me. Then again, she's my age. And get off my lawn.

She looks like she's had about 10 surgeries.

Just saw it, amazing. Easily #2 in the series behind Empire and visually one of the best sci fi movies ever IMO. The last shot was the best closing shot in Star Wars history.
I have only two gripes: One, the fight between Kyke Ren and Fin should have lasted about two seconds. A member of the dark side of the force who trained under Luke should have destroyed a regular guy who had never used a light saber. That fight was way too competitive.
Second, Carrie Fisher really half assed her role. None of her emotions were convincing. BB8 had a better emotional range.
I will be seeing it again most likely.

Han wouldn't have died that way, he would have had one hand on his blaster and should have been seen drawing it and perhaps grazing his son on the shoulder as the sabre went through him.
Better yet, he holds up the detonator to the bombs and presses it as the sabre is in him.
I don't know, a big part of the original trilogy was Han's evolution from a cold loner to someone willing to fight with others for the greater good.
And in the ends its still his son.

Just saw the movie. Liked
It better than I thought I would.
It was a throwback to the originals, which is what I have been wanting all along. No more stupid cgi character nonsense and lack of personality.... This one had good and funny lines, like the old days. Sure they went back to the well, but that is still better than anything else they have tried since.
Thumbs up.

honestly as bad as Hamill was, she was the worst actor in the originals too. But I cringed every time she was on screen in this one.
I honestly blame Abrams because there's just no way you can say "that's a wrap" on some of her work and move on. I've seen her interviewed. She's not a total idiot so surely you can get more out of her.
But I thought Harrison Ford was pretty bad too. He's just a far better actor so his half-assed is much better than hers.

pretty much where I came out. Like jobu, Star Wars was the tits of my youth. And so bringing back Han, Chewy, R2, even C3PO and I'm like a little kid.
But I really felt zero emotion on this one. It was well done. So much better than the prequels. But it didn't touch me in the way the originals did. It's just another sci-fi movie, though at least a good one.
And that's probably unfair as the whole genre was new when it came out. I was blown away by the idea of lightsabers, jedis, droids, wookies, yoda, the whole thing. Everything was fascinating and the close of Empire rocked my pre-teen world.
There's really no way for these sequels to do that so hopefully little kids felt the same emotion I did as a child when Obi-Wan was struck down.

saw it this morning and I really, really liked it. Got fricking giddy to see the Millenium Falcon.
Thoughts:
1. Han was a broken man; a shell of his former self. Very believable as he's lost his kid to the dark side.
2. Chewbacca's weapon; it was fired more this movie than 4-6 combined.
3. Ren seemed hardly trained in the Force.
4. I think Rey is one of the younglings Luke was training who had her memory wiped. She whipped Ren and learned to use the Force too quickly for any other explanation
5. The size of the imperial star destroyers wrecked was awesome.
6. Enough with the Death Stars/Star Killers.
Very satisfied; will see again this time in 3D.

I shed a man tear when he threw Han off that platform

Great theory

Agreed. I've seen:
1. Luke's daughter
2. Solo's Daughter
3. Obi's....relative of some sort
And seen good arguments for all of them, (although I can't imagine her being a Solo for many reasons) but I like the mind wipe idea.

I mean didn't you see his authentic lightsaber that no one else has? It must have been hand crafted.

I just wish I saw a monotoned douchebag like others in this thread. Instead I saw this whiny bitch that couldn't dominate 2 nonforce users. Obviously he is more a force user then a saber guy. Other than this the movie was awesome.

Saw Star Wars last night. It's the tits. For all of you classic star wars fans, they will not disappoint you. Very very in line with the old ones.

Thats really what bothered me the most. I realize they were trying to make him look young and unpolished.. but Finn of all people shouldn't have been able to put up a fight at all with a saber. Hope his "completion of training" brings back more of a boss.

I think it had to do with the shot he took from Chewy, he seemed to be bleeding pretty bad from it, which led to him losing a lot of strength and having to use some of his Force just to keep standing.

Finn could have received training in a saber-type combat. That one stormtrooper with the the electric staff looking thing is evidence of that.
