Definitely. However, the IT guy was just quizzing me, and I realized I am not as big of a fan as I had thought.

Couldn't get tickets until the 29th. It's sold out here EVERYWHERE until then.
Well, let me clarify: I'm taking my niece and her 2 brothers and that's the first day we could get 4 seats together that weren't in the very front row.

Not going. The "prequels" absolutely soured me on Star Wars. I might see it on Netflix in the future.

Everything I have read is this one is exactly everything you would hope it would be. I am trying to avoid spoilers and all the non spoiler reviews i read all say it is amazing.

The last 3 weren't great IMO but aside from Jar Jar and some really bad dialogue betwixt Anakin and Padma, they were visually cool.
I wonder if my AGE won't allow these movies to even sniff 4,5,6 for me (the originals). I fricking LOVED star wars and anything related to it. Hell, even battlestar gallactica got my attention just by riding the coat tails of SW. The wonder and excitement those movies provided a youthful Jobu93 simply can't be recreated in a jaded 44 year old.
I doubt I'm alone in feeling this way; these movies will be blockbusters because of my age group. They will attempt to reconnect with the inner youth of someone who now has the disposable cash to spend.

You'll change your mind.

And who has kids that you can spend the money on. That is why Disney bought the franchise.
Honestly I am excited, but I am also ready for the hype train to park at the station.

The "prequels" soured me
I'm a huge Star Wars fan, so I will go see it, but after the crowds die down.
Knowing the great job Abrams did with the Star Trek reboot, I am cautiously optimistic, but those prequels had a lasting effect on my enthusiasm.
Plus I'm already sick of that new rolling droid that is in every promo and commercial. Not because it's annoying (e.g. Jar-Jar), but because it's pure product placement and toy marketing.
Then there was the fight clip I saw of Harrison Ford where he looked so old and hobbled (for a fight scene), I think they must have CGI'd out his cane or walker. Hopefully it won't be that bad when I see the whole scene, but seeing him "run" around in the last Indy was pretty bad and that was a few years ago.
To those who are going this weekend, I hope you love it as much as I loved the original!!!!

It was pretty damn good and I had high expectations. Easily one of the best SW movies ever. Good twists. Good action. Perfect balance of OT characters and new characters. Pretty much every new character was a home run with maybe an exception for the big bad guy. Plenty of set up for the future but still felt like a complete movie.

I'm under the 24 hour mark for my show. Can't wait. Going with my wife and in laws. My MIL is so worried that Luke will be a bad guy. Can't wait to see how it is.

LOL. No spoiler. That is honestly what she is worried about. I have only seen the trailers and it looks awesome. Everyone I have seen write about it (non spoiler) said it is amazing. So ready to see it.

If only there was a board to discuss movies and such

Warning to everyone. Do not type any character names into google. It will auto finish (guess) what you're searching about and could give things away.
