The whole situation was 100% because we had a 5* prima donna and a helicopter dad being allowed to make demands and threaten to leave if they didn't get their way. So end result is Kyler is probably 90% most likely to transfer after this year anyway, and we literally broke our team's confidence in their coaching staff.
This is how I see it as well.

I'm not sure of that. While I think his skills lend itself more to the Oregon style offense, he is VERY small.
Yeah for some reason - I think because he was the "other" scrambler during the Johnny era, and because Oregon's offense is seen as "finesse" or "light in the loafers" - the public perception is that Marcus Mariota is small. He's not. Mariota is 6'4". Kyler's like 5'8" without cleats and built like a bird.

I realize this but Masoli was maybe 5'10" and Vernon Adams is shy of 6 feet.
I'm just saying I think Murray's athleticism would be a fit for that offense.
TBH, I think he'd be better off just concentrating on baseball.

The baseball angle is my thought as well.

gotta love how they are echo chambering themselves into believing this stuff

Not surprisingly, Texas A&M QB Kyle Allen admitted that he was injured in midseason and suffered an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder against Alabama and that he wasn't 100 percent healthy for the remainder of that game or the Ole Miss game, where Allen went 12-for-34
Called it Separated Shoulder

So here is the proof that Sumlin and Spav lied to our faces through 3 weeks of press conferences. Terrible mismanagement of our QBs. As was pointed out earlier, they could have told us the truth and saved a ton of drama.

Unless Kyler Murray kidnaps George Whitfield and doesn't let him leave for an entire summer, his future is not in football.

Yeah I don't and will probably never understand why we handled this situation the way we did

I don't see why any of you have a problem w/them not disclosing injuries.
Plenty of coaches do that b/c it helps to protect the kid's potential future in the NFL as well as making it less likely an opposing team will try to target and worsen the injury.
If Allen was hurt more than he was letting on, that's on him. He was trying to tough it out and it ended up being a horrible idea. I'm not going to begrudge them for thinking he might be able to play through it if he wasn't telling them how badly it was hurting him.

FINALLY
However, I'm guessing the explanation for this is that no QB is 100% midseason so it wasn't that big of a deal to let him play. Seems like the severity of the injury goes against that though.

This, but I will hold it against him. He hurt himself and the team by doing that.

That is my thought on it as well RC. That sort of injury is really dependent on the player telling the trainers how hurt he is. If he is saying it is sore but he is ok then they are not going to send him to an MRI to determine the extent of it. You mix that with Allen thinking Kyler would come in and tear it up and you get the cluster we had mid season.

This definitely annoys me, but not as much as it would if he were playing through a concussion or something. My gripe is that Sumlin could have just said "no comment" and not had this stupid arse controversy.

They had to see it in the OM game and in practice leading up to it. They stayed with him far too long in the OM game at the very least.
