Nobody will ever convince me that he was not hurt. After the hit against Ms St. he was off. I really think he had a slight shoulder separation. His passes this week had more zip and he just looked better and moved better.

I sure hope you're right
Part of me expects him to fall apart vs LSU and throw 3 picks

It just seems so off that they let him play hurt without saying anything about it.

I agree. He was ripping the ball in there in 30 degree weather with the wind howling this weekend. There had to be something physically wrong
The only thing I could think of, because I agree with Farmer's viewpoint as well, is that he refused to admit he was hurt and didn't tell the staff to try to play through it. I dunno

because kevin is fricking retarded with how he controls the message surrounding the team

This.
Allen was hurt there is no doubt. Sumlin lied to us, and I'm not sure why. I've said this before but all of his closed door, no leaks policies end up blowing up in his face.
Not thrilled how him and Spav handled the QB situation. Very, very poorly managed.

We kept hearing how Kyle was fine and Kyle himself kept saying there was nothing wrong. But you don't have a chiropractic adjustment on the sideline during a game unless there is something wrong. I really think he was trying to be a leader and show his toughness by trying to play through it. (Or maybe he was worried his job would not be there when he got back). But, I played pretty much a whole season in HS with two separated shoulders. It sucked really bad as an offensive lineman. I cannot imagine trying to throw a ball in that kind of pain.

If the message was.
Pre OM presser
-Murray has been suspended for 1 game for breaking team rules.
Pre SC presser
-Kyle was trying to play through pain with an undisclosed injury. Clearly if effected him and will be giving him time to recover. Murray will start moving forwards with Jake being the primary back up.
Pre WCU presser
-Kyle is day to day. Both QBs will be getting reps with the ones. If Kyle cannot go, we Kyler will start.
Pre Vandy presser
-Kyle will return as starting QB.
Everything plays out the same yet the message is different.

He takes it to an extent that is really juvenile and as juvenile actions typically go, it backfires on him. He doesn't need to blab about every injury, or go into detail, or discuss disciplinary actions or their causes, but when your QB's shoulder is clearly injured, to not only act like nothing is physically wrong - but directly and literally lie about it - is a bad, silly, policy that comes out of Kevin's strange desire to "stick it to the media", which is apparent in the petulant attitude he cops in every press conference.
Just saying "Allen's shoulder is hurt - you all saw it. We're starting Murray because he is healthy." Would have been much better. But, that would also mean he'd have to own playing Allen while injured against Alabama and then playing him injured against OM because Murray was in the doghouse, even though he had Hubenak and playing an injured Allen wasn't necessary. THAT is a narrative he absolutely does not want to explore and will do anything to avoid.

You kidding? Steele's vaunted zone schemes are going to allow Kyle Allen to have a career day

What I think happened internally:
Allen got his bell rung pretty well and maybe some minor injury vs MSU. Allen did ok in practice, but coaches knew he shouldn't be starting, we should play the backup (Hube). However, because of the situation with Kyler and his dad and 'playtime promises', coaches couldn't just pull Allen and start Hube, who they thought would probably be better for a spell. So we start Kyler. He ends up looking like a true freshman (dogshit), but by now, Allen is doing better. So we start Allen again.
The whole situation was 100% because we had a 5* prima donna and a helicopter dad being allowed to make demands and threaten to leave if they didn't get their way. So end result is Kyler is probably 90% most likely to transfer after this year anyway, and we literally broke our team's confidence in their coaching staff.

From you mouth to God's ears.

I fully agree with this if the coaching staff actually knew, but there's also a good chance that Kyle was injured and hiding it, thinking he could push through it while knowing that if he ever admitted he was injured he'd immediately be on the bench.

You think Kyler is going to transfer?

He would be magic at a place like Oregon.

Absolutely. I cannot imagine him NOT transferring, since Allen is likely to be the starter next year as well.

Could be. Not sure it would be a bad thing either. I don't have any line in the internals if the locker room or the program so I don't know enough to even speculate.

I don't pretend to have any special lines either, I am absolutely uninformed.
I'm just speculating on what I see from my keyboard, which is that Kyler is locker room poison.
