247 crystal ball makes it seem pretty dire with top 250 recruits in Texas that are still uncommitted. I haven't payed as much attention this year but hopefully we keep winning and can pick up some game changers

It appears that everything changed with recruiting after the 2 QB's quit the team. Before that Brandon Jones and Jeffrey McCulloch leaned A&M. Now, outside of Hines, the top 20 players in Texas have little or no interest in A&M. Sumlin and staff just doesn't put as much effort in recruiting as some other schools.

Which is weird because when he first came here recruiting seemed to be this staff's calling card

We played like shite so we slowly got rid of our recruiting staff for coaches who develop talent.

We are also extremely good at identifying underrated talent.

Blake Barnett has left the Bama program and intends to transfer

So the top 3 qbs from the 2015 class (according to 247 comp) are transferring. Kyler, Stidham and now Barnett

McCulloch was never leaning towards A&M and he wasn't a priority for the staff. The staff wanted Tyrell Dodson and Mike Divinity (LSU).

The fallacy of Sumlin and staff not putting much effort into recruiting is a complete fabrication. Most fans don't remember how bad recruiting was before this staff got to campus.

They might be putting in less time recruiting TX kids, but that is likely because they are recruiting more nationally and A&M plays fewer games in TX now that they are in the SEC. A&M didn't play a single TX team last year which might have contributed to the decline in local recruitng too.

regarding the #1 recruit in the state of Texas, 2016:

In fact, Little said that new offensive line coach Dave Christensen hasn't communicated much with him since taking over, a fact that may need to change in the near future for the Aggies to avoid a decommitment from the nation's No. 2 prospect.

#1 recruit in the state of Texas, 2017:

"There are a lot of schools kind not really hitting me up as much. I don’t know if it has to do with them thinking I have made my decision or something but before the season everyone was blowing my line up. I really haven’t heard anything from anybody. The only ones that are really consistent are Florida State and Texas. Everyone else has fell off and I have no idea why."

Then you throw in getting out worked for Kendall Sheffield/Holton Hill in 2015 and Taylor Hamm's numerous references to our less-than-ideal recruiting efforts, and I find it to be nothing close to a "complete fabrication"

How could this possibly be true?

Forget Texas kids, it's time to hit Louisiana like a Mike Tyson punch. We have a perfect opportunity to poach some talent from there.

LSU had Divinity rated higher too, so it shouldn't be a surprise.

They were only planning on taking 2 and they had Dodson and Divinity rated higher than McCollough. Dodson was already in the boat and Divinity lied to the A&M staff, telling them he would commit.

Nanos, by now you should realize that Little's recruitment had nothing to do with coach contact. Most teams slowly backed away from his recruitment after family friend, Shaun Smith, stepped in and took over his recruitment.

Hopefully, they add GA and CA to that mix this year.

Not only that, but this is the 4th QB to transfer from Bama since 2014. Let's see how many times this comes up this week or the fact that 8 kids have transferred from Bama since this Summer in regards to Saban.

Yes little had a handler, and it had nothing to do with Christensen ignoring him the first couple of months on the job.

Add another stud recruit to the list of visitors for the Tennessee game. ILB Jacob Phillips will be in attendance while on his official visit. Chavis targeted him early in the process and if he has stayed in contact I feel we may have a real shot at landing this one out of nowhere. 4 of his top 5 schools are OOS. We will be his last official visit.

That Tennessee game is extremely crucial to our future, both short term and long term.

Agree. Haven't won a home game of this magnitude in a long time. Assuming both Tenn and us win this weekend it likely sets up as a top 10 showdown on national television. Win these next two weeks and all goals for this team are still in reach. Even if we were to lose to Bama
