Sips are saying that Ondario Robinson wants to commit to A&M, but his father won't let him.

This is being reported by our sources as well. Said reports also note that he is very frustrated with his parents and understandably so

Why, doesn't want him to rush or something more controlling?

Apparently Ondario wants to commit here but says his dad won't sign his letter of intent as he wants Ondario to go to tu. I guess Ondario is going to take a couple of weeks so he can convince his dad but he may just say screw it and commit here anyway and force his dad to sign his letter of intent.

Like a frickin' boss.

I want kids that want to come to a&m so badly they're willing to piss pops off over it.

They screwed up and gave dad the F250 this time.

But keep in mind that that is according to the sips. They are hoping that his dad will force him to go to tu but for the life of me I don't understand how a fan base would want a kid who absolutely doesn't want to be there.

All I know is is that Ondario has made up his mind and he was going to commit to us last Friday at halftime but his dad told him no and Ondario is really pissed off about it.

Sounds like ondarios dad has already spent the money he received and is worried about having to pay it back if his kid goes to a&m. Someone should tell him the Eric Dickerson rule still applies.

There's a BIG precedent for this: Malik Jefferson. He wanted to come to A&M and still wishes he had. He only went to UTw because his mom told him to.

He was at the A&M v. Arkansas game last weekend @ Jerry World (UTw bye week) posing with A&M fans.

So it's happened before and will happen again. The t-shirt fandom of these parents is hard to overcome.

Things go a lot better when the coach, AD, donors and bagmen are all on the same page. Hopefully we can keep winning and develop a little more unity.

just another example of how sometimes parents can be dumb as hell too.

if he came to a&m he'd be getting tons of hype on a much improved, dare i say impressive defense. instead he's toiling away on an embarrassment of a defense, in an embarrassment of a league for overall defense. i imagine $ is slowly being flushed down the toilet.

to be fair, chavis wasn't named as the new dc before he made an announcement i believe. though, he could have pushed back his announcement to a later date to see who a&m was going to hire (i think that's correct?), and flipping your commitment has been done in the past i believe. frick it, i've talked myself out of being fair. you get what you deserve.

Robinson's parents are only hurting him because he's going to lose his spot in this class if he keeps waiting (or being forced to wait).

It isn't T-Shirt fandom like we normally see.

I will just say it- it is because they are black and they have an aversion to A&M's conservative culture because to them conservative=racist.

This keeps coming up for us again and again even outside of Malik. Hell the only thing that finally won over RSJ's parents over their bias is Dickerson put in a good word for us.

Just having a black coach isn't enough when Texas has one too. The parents just fall back on age-old thinking. I don't know what the answer is.

I would just show parents quotes from Red McCombs.

Either that, or just wait for them to fire Charlie after 3 years.

That's definitely correct. He had a self-imposed announcement date for the purposes of grandstanding and refused to wait to see who A&M hired. He then (at Charlie's urging, no doubt) turned it into a public backhanding of Sumlin by saying Sumlin didn't "trust" his 17 year old self enough to tell him who he was hiring before the deal was done.

Strong has almost as many losses after 28 games as Sumlin does in 56 games.

The answer is: there is nothing that we can do. However the situation will resolve itself because Charlie is terrible and they WILL fire him, sooner rather than later, and at that point - particularly given the current hyper-racial, SJW, trigglypuff society we live in - Quannel X, Henry Rangel, Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton will descend upon them and raise the cry of "racism" from every TV screen in America.

I remember how Mark May went on a tirade against A&M after we hired Sherman because we didn't interview an African American coach. But the sad truth was that we didn't even interview anyone else. Our good old boy system knew who they wanted all along.

If Texas fires Strong after this season, our few former students in media better beat the shite out of the race card and not let up! (I'm looking at you John Lopez and Roland Martin)
