Hah! So true. He thought it was racist, but really it was just the good old fashioned Aggieness of allowing a small cabal of insiders to hire their buddy. Ironically, the same thing happened with Sumlin, only he happens to be black. Race didn't play a factor either time, nor did we do a search that resulted in hiring either of them.

If Malik regrets going to tu so damn much then he should just be a man and transfer out of there.

Correct
We hired Sherman because he was frickin Mike Sherman, who the heck doesn't hire him given that opportunity? No one.

We hired Sumlin because he was Tom Herman, he was and still is the smooth talking oozing success from every pore hot up and coming coach.

He wasn't man enough to stand up to mom the first time around. He isn't now either. He's going to suffer in semi-silence for 2 more seasons, then go low in the draft because he's being forced to play out of position.

I'd feel sorry for him, but he decided to stab Sumlin in the back on his way to Austin with an uncalled-for personal smear. He and mommy burned that bridge, made their stupid bed, and now they can lay in it.

Yup. frick Malik. I blame him for fricking up this forum for more than a year. Only in the last few months has it started to feel special again.

Even worse, it was him in large part who helped gin-up the recent wave of 'Aggy is racist, don't go there' stuff with his twitter posts. Then he goes to the A&M vs. Arkansas game to lament and pine after what could have been, and takes pictures with Aggies? Dude is a cowardly headcase. I laugh at him, an OLB, playing MLB and getting hit by linemen, as part of a terrible defense, on a bad team, under a clueless coach. Instant karma.

A tale of two linebacker recruits from the 2015 class in 2016:

Linebacker 1: 19 tackles, 1.0 TFL (1.0 sack), 4 PBU

Linebacker 2: 8 tackles, 2.0 TFL (1.0 sack), 1 PBU, 1 QBH

Both played 3 games.

1 is a starter, the other 2nd string.

2 is Moore, figured 1 would be Malik, but the stats I looked up said he had 16 tackles.

Have y'all been watching Malik? Kid is pretty dang good imo. Hard to tackle one on one every play though.

I watched parts of the ND and and a good chunk of the Cal game, he didn't seem to stand out to me. The only two plays I noticed him on the Cal game was when he got run over and injured by the Cal RB that Malik had 5 inches and close to 45 pounds on, and that last running play by Cal where they ran right up the gut at him and he got pushed out of the way by a guard.

*and we are getting way off topic on what should be 2017 recruiting thread so last post from me on the subject.

Even more (pun intended) damning is the fact that Richard Moore missed one game this year...PRAIRIE VIEW, while Jefferson played significantly against UTEP.

He should be playing outside not MIKE but they have no other choice. It's something we would have done in 2013 or 14

We're doing it in 2016 with Alaka

Alaka is fine inside even though it's not his natural spot. We have George there as well. Jefferson does not look comfortable playing there and his skill set is a much better fit for playing outside IMO. He's just far and away their best LB so they don't have a choice

Alaka didn't move inside to Mike until his sophomore year. He spent the entirety of his freshman season at Sam.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, he's moved back to Sam with George's improvement at Mike.

I guess he stands out in a good way to me bc when a good play is made by their defense, which is rare, it's typically him making the play. But yeah we are WAY off topic now lol

In 2017 recruiting it looks like we'll get enough wins barring a meltdown to close with a really good class. Potentially we end up with the
#1 ILB, DT & CB (imo) in Texas. Hines, Wilson, and Sheffield respectively. Could be a great defensive class. Just gotta keep winning

Sumlin really needs to finish on a couple of these guys. It will make competing for SEC championships a much more realistic goal down the road.

From what I've read, it seems sheffield is looking good, Hines is 50/50 and Marvin is a lot less likely (but we're improving our chances)
