No one knows what our rotation will be like next year.

Lacy, Fowler, Hart, Yeldon. There will almost certainly be more rotation than there was this year.

I don't even know what kind of back he is. The only highlight I've seen was him running around and past people. Is he a power back? Kind of lanky but I'm sure we can put some muscle on him.

This was what I posted about Yeldon a couple of days ago after seeing my first highlights of him.

From the highlights I was guessing 4.5~4.6 speed. Very good for HS but not enough for staying on the edge in college. Same speed class as T-Rich, a little faster than Ingram. His running style looks to be that of a cut-back runner with feet close together but spreds them well and squats just before breaks in the open field. I said off tackle because he runs upright and not behind his pads.

I wondered how Dee Hart took this news? He was a higher rated player (#19 by Rivals) than Yeldon. One of those guys is going to be severely disappointed.

I know you're just trying to stir the pot but I'll give you an answer. As with most schools, Bama will take at minimum 1 RB in every class. So I'm sure Dee had no delusions that Bama wouldn't take RB's in classes after him; plus Bama has proven, under Saban, that multiple RB's will get carries. So I don't think either will be "severely disappointed"

What about Justin Taylor, Kenyan Drake, and Blake Sims? Are they the new Terry Grant, Dee Goode, and Ivan Matchett??

Pretty sure that's not Yeldon. That kid looks about 4 inches shorter & 20 lbs lighter than Yeldon.

Also, assumming it was him, take a good look at the car. The rims already have brake dust on them. That car isn't new to the driver (who I don't think is Yeldon).

Probably the same way Mark Ingram took the news when, as a freshman, Bama signed Trent. Every back who commits to Bama knows they're going to share carries, but that also means they are going to always have fresh legs.

Taylor probably decoms soon. Been a possibility for a few weeks. Drake is a great kid w/ a great attitude. He knew Bama was working to sign another RB. He also has been spoken to about the possibility of playing WR or (shocking, I know) DB.

He's not going anywhere.

I knew Taylor was looking around already, Bama's ESPN affiliate emailed me an article hinting as such. This several weeks before the TJ rumors heated up.

I still want Drake apart of the class, he's at a specific point where he isn't handcuffed to a certain position yet. Coach Cochran will mold him into anything Saban wants him to be...

Isn't Hart a pretty small dude? Looking at his measurables he didn't look like he fit Bama's mold of a workhorse power running back, I haven't seen him play any though. I wonder how the new OC will utilize him. Will he be anything more than a change of pace, off tackle kind of guy at Bama?

exactly. and he will be. I met Kenyan and Geno at seperate times at Bama. Introduced to both by the same guy who said they were among the most solid commits we had (this was months ago) and that both would contribute as FR. I was impressed with how they carried themselves. I think Drake playing on O is a possibility, but I know they staff feels good about him at DB if we don't get some of the other targets.

I think Hart is one of those short but not small guys like MJD or Ray Rice, but that's just me. I know a lot of people think he's just a 3rd down RB/kick returner. He's pretty thickly built though. I think he can run between the tackles just fine if that's what the coaches want him to do.

Trent splitting carries with Ingram and Lacy his whole career at Bama will still put him in the 1st round and add a couple of years to his NFL career. Churning out thousands of yards Ron Dayne style is not what NFL GM's are looking for anymore. Most HB's have 5-7 year careers in the NFL now and they are looking for fresh legs they can abuse until they draft another.

FWIW Rivals just put up a reaction article from Drake, he's all class.

He's excited to play with Yeldon, not scared. Gotta love that attitude...

Yea...if their plan was to get 400 carries for 2,400 yards a season. Bama HB's will always split carries and this will be back to back seasons we have put a HB in the 1st round.

Drake seems like a great kid. He just wants to win and get better as a football player.
