Well I guess all those Bama sources weren't full of shite/drumming up business after all.

....sigh

I questioned his choice of Auburn the whole time. Our backfield is crowded w/o him. Hopefully, Robinson, Blakely, and Mason are all as advertised.

Bama is a much better situation for him depth wise. Makes sense.

of course you did. So was Calloway, Cyko, Ha Ha, Dee Hart, etc, etc, right? Come on, man. Get a grip. Flips happen every year in Dec & Jan. It isn't like Bama can't communicate to him that the last two guys to play his position for Bama were (or will be) first round NFL draft picks.

I heard this too from an Auburn fan.

I think Bama's best recruiting strategy is to let all of our 5 star targets commit to Auburn, wait for Auburn and Trooper to find a way to frick it up, and then have them begging for Bama to find a spot for them. Working so far........

He wasn't paid. Those Auburn fans need to shut the frick up with that nonsense. Of course he will be given improper benefits, but that happens everywhere. It would've happened at Auburn, too.

As far as TJ goes, good luck to him. He's going to be a great back no matter what. Although, I do have to put his integrity in question after he lied straight to our coaches' faces around 5 times just this month by saying he was solid. I wish he would've at least done this another time so we could have a better chance at filling his spot with someone. The dead period is literally about to start.

All that being said, Dyer better fricking get his head on straight and be ready for Clemson game 1. I could care less what OMAC does. He can't take a hit worth jack shite.

As long as we replace his scholarship with a really good player, hopefully DL or OL, I will be happy. He is a stud of a player, and I really wish we could keep him, but luckily, we do have talented depth at RB.

Yeldon's flip was due to a number of things...Alabama's offense and success at running back, a teammate and best friend headed to UA, Jeremy Pruitt and Nick Saban's relentless pursuit of his commitment even when things looked bleak. Auburn did a great job with Yeldon early. I do think Malzahn's departure hurt, but I am not sure it would have mattered. I think he just saw more and more that Alabama's offense was a better fit.

And despite the character assassination attempts you are going to see from people/media who shouldn't be going there, Yeldon's flip was due to the factors I stated above.

And the Sunday commitment WASN'T a coincidence because he was tired of the pressure from all sides. He is as quiet and media-shy as any kid I have covered in Alabama dating back to Julio. He wanted the calls and visits to stop. He had his coaches release a statement to kill the phone call attempts as well. This has been in the works for a few days, and the statement was simultaneously e-mailed to virtually every media member in the state.

Good luck TJ, would have loved to see you in Orange & Blue but wasn't meant to be.

You have to question the timing. If you look at the depth charts, Alabama seems to be the logical choice for a RB. If Auburn had landed Yeldon and Robinson, that would have put us with (4) #1 backs in he backfield (Robinson, Yeldon, Mason, and Blakely).

With our shitty luck, Dyer will end up being kicked off, Robinson won't qualify, OMAC will go pro, and we will be stuck with only Grant, Blakely, and Mason. It's just how our luck has gone here lately.

.

the phone calls would've stopped Monday anyway, as it's a no-contact period... then he would've enrolled. From the outside looking in, the timing is the thing that sucks the most...

haha I hate Auburn as much as the next Bama fan, but you're being too pessimistic. Yes, it sucks balls to lose a huge recruit to the rival, but Auburn should be fine. if all that happens, then it just wasn't meant to be

He could have handled it differently but he is a 17 year old kid getting pressured by grown men from every school. Sometimes you just tell ppl what they want to hear so they'll leave you alone. And maybe he wasn't completely lying. Maybe he had a big change of heart in the past couple of days.

we just had the best season in our programs history yet our luck has been bad lately? we have had 3 straight top 10 recruiting classes, about to be 4. still have a 4* AA RB committed and RB is the one spot we can afford to lose someone. does it suck, yeah, hes a damn good player. something just doesnt add up. solid to auburn all along, then the day before dead period he switches? hmmmmmmmmmm
