Lacy was a dime a dozen. Fournette is special. This thread is stupid.

If Lacy will be the first back drafted, what does your statement say about how Bama and LSU develope RBs? Do you think Fournette has taken notice? I would if I was a RB in LA.

That ultimately ESPN will hype Bama RBs more, anyones success on the pro level is ultimately up to them. See Stevan Ridley and Mark Ingram.

Are you fricking serious? He is the number one player at his position. You don't know what dime a dozen means.

Sure is. As a Junior in High School.

So you're saying that success in the NFL is not ultimately up to the individual?

Still trying to read the whole thread. Im sure there is plenty of trolling going on by both sides...
As an LSU fan, I would like to go ahead and state my opinion that the link you posted of Lacey's highlights is more impressive than the highlights I have seen of LF...Thus far.
now for the disclaimers.... Alot of the competetion in Lacey's highlights are inferior to what LF has seen week in and week out. Also, is that Lacey's senior year highlights? Only curious because we only have LF's junior highlights to compare at this time. Also, LF obviously currently has a better combination of size, speed, and strength than did Lacey did at the time of that highlight film. Obviously Lacey's spin move made plenty of kids look just plain dumb...

In a mediocre RB class.
1) He won't be a first rounder.
2) He injured his hamstring and didn't participate in the combine, so his draft stock might fall given that nobody has accurate measureables on him.

Nothing. Steven Ridley says LSU develops RB just fine.

IN A WEAK YEAR FOR RBS! Jesus people. Lacy is a second round pick. Check that. A HEALTHY Lacy is a second round pick.

Yeah, Garfield apparently doesn't realize that Ridley outrushed Richardson and Ingram last year - not by a little, by more than 300 yards.

Very aware, just think it's strange that he has been so much better in the league than LSU. He had more yards last year than he had in his best season at LSU. Also, despite being an amazing talent was only a 3rd round pick (people here are criticizing Lacy for possible slipping to the second round).

Why are LSU fans so mad that you would compare Fournette to the best running back to come out of Louisiana in a decade? Shouldnt they be happy about that, since he's such a stone cold LSU lock?

Thank you for your honesty (we need more posters like you on here).

Thanks for the info - that's why I asked the question. Don't know much about LA football, just looking at the highlight tapes I thought man that LF kid looks like the best back I have seen from LA since Lacy.

I guess O-lines, offensive schemes, Qb play, etc.... don't have anything to do with a rb's success

The best running back coming out of high school in Louisiana, or the best Louisiana born running back coming out of college?
Those are two different things. One of which is the type of comparison Bama fans were quick to shite on. Now it's the type of comparison you're championing.
Also, best Louisiana born running back to come out of college in the last decade was Matt Forte, not Eddie Lacy. But they were similar coming out of high school, so I guess Tulane develops running backs better than Bama does.

Wouldn't that encourage you to go to Bama if you were a HS RB. You could either get drafted in the third round after three years or you could win a heisman and be a first round pick. You can't fight ESPN, they control it all.

Not anymore than it would encourage me to go to Tulane or East Carolina.

It's a fact that any school that's nickname relates to the color of the ocean is great at developing backs.
