but they might be leaning that way because UGA is usually impressive to RB recruits.

Probably. Which was my earlier point. If Akers was most interested in playing in a RB friendly offense, he wouldn't have decommited. He seems more about staying home and coaching relationships.

We have to watch the NCAA investigation in Oxford, if they get hit pretty hard he could end up at UGA which I believe is his #2 school. These investigations can sometimes take a yr or more so it might not hurt the Rebels this cycle but you better believe these coaches are negative recruiting against Ole Miss and letting these recruits know a postseason ban could be on the horizon.

That's great. It sure hurt this years class when "it" came out a week before signing day

But you are right, I'm sure many will try and use it against us

Akers told VQ he loved his Tennessee visit and he will be back for the Orange and White game. Said he really loves the idea of being the main running back in 2017 with Hurd and Kamara both likely gone.

OSU update on Akers:

Last night, Meyer apparently offered a grayshirt to a RB committed who is a top 20 RB in the country (Todd Sibley). Rumor is it is because OSU feels good about either/both of Harris/Akers. OSU is short on scholarships (class probably smaller than 20), so it's already tight. I would be fine if OSU just stuck with Dobbins who is an APB in this class.

I feel pretty confident that Ole Miss will land Akers. Obviously that depends on what happens with the NCAA, but with the young receivers and offensive line we have and with Shea as his QB for 2+ years I think he will see himself as the missing piece of making that offense special. Bama and UGA are the biggest threats. Ohio State is obviously a top 5 program and Urban is one of the best recruiters, but Mississippi kids rarely leave the state and at the end of the day I think Ohio is just too far away. If Bama loses Harris and puts all their attention on Akers, I'll be pretty worried.

He'll be in BR tomorrow for the spring game. He and Toneil Carter will be the next LF7 and Guice.
