Yeah, they usually do a very good job with their coverage of SEC sports. Much better source for this type of stuff than a biased outlet like ESPN or something IMO. They'll be ranking the SEC in every position group, so I'll keep the board updated as they come out

He is a great get, if we didn't already have Tae Provens committed we may have pursued a little harder
So Provens the best player from a 4A school ranked 272nd in the state and a 3 star ranks higher than Bolden the best player from a very good 5A team that plays better competition and also a 3 star? No, not buying the slow play, we passed on Bolden going to Bama tripe. We missed on a very good player to Bama.
Again.

Bolden said himself before he committed to Bama when he announced he was down to TCU and Bama that he has wanted to go to LSU all along and is a lifelong fan but we "havent shown him the love" the other schools were. The fact is he was lower on the board than Provens and Provens committed so we no longer were recruiting Bolden. We weren't going to take 2 slot guys who do the same thing this class with the other receivers we have on the board in Terrance Marshall and Jamarr Chase. Top 100 overall type talents.
Provens has a very very long offer list himself, go take a look, Auburn, USC, Tennessee, South Carolina, Louisville...to name a few.

Excellent reply. Bolden being lower in the pecking order is a viable argument, but I don't see why he would be lower rated when he plays against a higher level of competition, has better tangibles and is a in state product to boot. It could have been a 1A and 1B scenario regarding the two and 1A said yes first.
I personally just hate losing local kids to anyone, especially Bama.

It's what actually happened, and Bolden basically said it himself.

Has nothing to do with ratings, there are 5-stars that p[lay against private school 1A competition.

This would be an opinion.

We are out to get the best players wherever they are, not just limit ourselves to everyone in-state.

Bama will always try and keep a foothold in this state as long as Saban is there. They are going to take good players, and in some cases, reach a little just to continue to keep a foothold in areas, in this case a Monroe kid. Nothing we can do about it unless that player is really worth taking a very hard shot and look at. Bolden just doesnt fit the mold when we already have Provens in this class. IMO, Bolden is making a huge mistake not going to TCU. I dont know if he is just that upset for LSU passing on him once we got Provens on board or if he really thinks he'll play there but he's exactly the type of player Saban loves to give those 11th hour grayshirt offers to or end up transferring out after a year or 2 when they realize they aren't going to play in front of the 5-stars and Top 100 overall talents they are stocking up everywhere.

No the tangibles are definitely not opinion based, the film and his 40 times, etc are definitely superior to Provens. Who's the better player is the question and a matter of opinion. I look forward to seeing them both play in the future to find out.
You are an excellent poster whether I disagree with you here or not, take care.

LSU's current RB coach offered him while at USC. Robinson was on Provens for a long time before coming to LSU.

Based on his recent quotes, even Slade doesn't expect to play RB. I agree with some of the other posters here that he probably won't see the field for a while at Bama and may end up transferring after a couple of years. Good luck to him.
or none of this will happen.

First play of the year. Slade to Henry for a 75 yard TD.

Interview with Slade's OC
Go to around 3:30 for the bit about Slade. Thought Bama fans might want to hear what his OC has to say about him.

Bamas recruiting sure has gone down fast

Bama can have him. We have texas tech transfer jonathan giles. Giles is legit and has already proven himself to be an elite reciever at the power 5 level, as an underclassmen. LSU will take giles all day everyday over slade bolden lol. They would have been competing for the same position in canadas offense at LSU, don't think for a second slade bolden doesn't know that...Giles would start over slade bolden at slot until he leaves LSU, that's a fact. Slade Bolden has trey quinn written all over him, he won't amount to jack shite and will more than likely transfer from bama, never to be heard from again. That would be the same outcome if he chose to come to LSU also.
Gimme Giles, frick slade
