Well, to sound cliche, we have an OC we got from New England so we need a couple of white slot receivers now.
AL.com compared him to Julian Edelman.... because he's played QB and so did Edelman in college .... yeah, I'm sure that's the real reason for the comparison al.com ;)winkwink;)

Do you know how to read? If so you lack comprehension. No salt here.

When did Bama become 3 star U?
Two of eight (nine this afternoon) commits, with one being a punter?

Alabama taking 3* now
You know how this works. He won't be a 3-star by the end of the recruiting cycle.
ETA: Alabama has only taken five 3-stars in the last two classes combined.
Here are the positions they play:
Kicker
Punter
Long Snapper
Center
Slade Bolden will be a Slot WR/APB.

I have great reading skills. Wasn't specifically calling you out but you seem to have taken it that way. Toughen up!
3+ pages, like I said. Keep it rolling.

Probably will never see the field at Bama.

Guy is pretty good, but not on Bamas talent level.
Prob baby doesn't see the field much at Bama.
I'm curious if this is a long play for another, better player he's friends with or something.

Our mods on 247 say Saban loves Bolden. He personally started recruiting him after his performance at camp last month.

Not to sound like a cliché, but he looks a lot like Christian McCaffrey on film.
Well that's awkward.
I don't know if anyone already asked but is he going to play receiver? He's not big enough for RB in the SEC.

He weighs 200 pounds as a high school Junior.

So back to my original question is he going to stick to RB?
I've stood next to him, if he's 200lbs now I'm not stepping on a scale for a long time.

Based on his recent quotes, even Slade doesn't expect to play RB. I agree with some of the other posters here that he probably won't see the field for a while at Bama and may end up transferring after a couple of years. Good luck to him.

People get really caught up on this forum with this stuff.

It is widely known locally that WM has numerous good players in the 2019 and 2020 class coming up. WM fans would have been fine with him going to TCU (even though they've established a nice pipeline also), but we did not want Bama having Slade in the ear of the younger WM players that people will start hearing about - starting this fall - and continuing for the next 3 seasons.

Arledge coached O at Northwestern. You think Slade, who will not see them at all because he will be away at college, will have more influence than their coach they see every day?

Well, however much he weighs, he recently bench pressed 225 lbs. 13 times (McCaffrey only did 10 reps at the NFL Combine), squatted 455, and power cleaned 250 lbs 4 times. So he's strong as an ox for his size. 5'11.5" 198 is actually a pretty good size for a slot WR, and big enough for a situational RB (at least).

Oh you mean when all those mods figured out he was going to Bama.
I would say that an offer from Bama - a committable offer at that - would warrant a deeper look at a player's film by the recruiting services. If Bama is willing to accept a commit from a player, history has shown he's likely very good. The "bama bump" is more a result of the ranking services respecting Saban and staff evaluations and what they've done and much less about falsely inflating rankings like some of you wish to be the case.
It's not like on field results disprove your theory or anything.
