Did Manziel win a championship? No. That's why it's absurd for you to be so upset that others put CHAMPIONSHIP QB's in front of him.

What the hell is this?

I never said put him above Cam or Tebow (though I think he's significantly better than the latter). You can put him at 3 for now, as the best player who hasn't won a title.

Two of those QBs were principle reasons for their teams winning the BCS title.

Easy to pick them over a guy who has played one brilliant season.

JFF may get there. But it's too early to put him over the likes of Tebow and Newton.

Or even AJ McCarron. Who, while not principally responsible, has something only Tebow has--two rings.

Why #3? I can think of another heisman winner who won a title to slot in at #3.

1. Tim Tebow

4-year player, 3-year starter
2 National Championships (one as starter, one as role player)
2 SEC Championships, 3 SECCG appearances
35-6 as a starter, 48-7 during his 4-years
Heisman Trophy winner (at the time, first underclassman ever)
3-time Heisman finalist
2-time Maxwell Award winner (2007, 2008)
2-time 1st Team All American (2007, 2008)
3-time 1st Team All SEC (2007, 2008, 2009)
1st in SEC passing efficiency (170.8), 2nd in NCAA history
145 TDs (88 passing, 57 rushing)
12,233 Total Yds (9,286 passing, 2,947 rushing)
Didn't bother to look up specifics, but undoubtedly impressive record vs. ranked teams
1st round NFL Draft pick (25th overall)

Unless we define what "top players" means (pure talent, potential, best individual season, hardware, overall individual performance, championships, leadership, etc.) this debate is meaningless. Tebow is the best combination of all of that and he played for 4 years. Arguably in the top 5 SEC (and NCAA) players of all time, not just since the NC streak began. No one else on the list comes close.

"Yeah, but he has an awkward throwing motion..."

Doesn't matter. Beat Bama. Had sex.

Sincerely,
JFF, GOAT.

My top 5, in no particular order

Trent Richardson
Darren McFadden
Tim Tebow
Cam Newton (IT BURNS!!!!)

All offense. Hard to pick a fifth so I'll go defense and be a homer:

Marc Barron.

The other Heisman winner wasn't a QB who willed his team to victory or set the single season SEC record for total yards.

Did Ingram even set any records? Was he even the best RB on his team?

I'm an LSU fan but I definitely agree about Berry and I think Dorsey is being underrepresented.

Also, it is laughable at this stage to put Manziel with Cam and Tebow. I know Cam had only one season but no one else in this discussion carried the kind of load he did during that season.

You dog the A&M fan for being terrible and then put up this list. That's awesome.

Anyone who doesn't have Eric Berry in their top 5 obviously doesn't watch or understand much SEC football.
