Wimp was immediately fired.

You spend your time refuting everything the article says, then you agree that Auburn would be going after Briles?

I meant Herman, not Briles. I think Briles ended us at Kansas.

You mean the inferior team that has beaten Auburn like a yard dog 8 of the last 10? Those inferior teams?

Wow. Aren't we sensitive. I was thinking more about him losing to that awful USC team year before last.

No, it was his second issue and the only reason he was fired was because she sued the University after she was moved. It was widely known for 6 months that it was going on. Finebaum broke it on his show months earlier.

I hope not. He should never coach in college football again.

I can understand it more if a desperate non Power 5 team did though. They just want any exposure good or bad.

If a SEC team does it I hope the media gives them a scarlet letter like Baylor got and other programs negative recruit the frick out of that program.

He is human scum.

I think it's widely known that Pete Thamel has an axe to grind with Auburn. Nothing new here.

Has Thamel ever reported anything correctly?

Auburn is the type of school that could hire Briles, as its administrators want to win bad enough that they'd endure the tidal wave of bad publicity.

Right... Which is why Bobby P. didn't even get an interview nor been on so much as probation in 20 years. Outlaws I tell you. No apparent agenda with ol' Pete.

We have a bad reputation with Thamel. No way bible thumping, creed thumping JJ hires Briles as head coach. Very possible he comes as OC to rehab his reputation.
Why don't y'all bring him now as an offensive consultant? Take a little PR heat from the media now, but it won't be much, then see how Rhett finishes out the season and either keep him on as a consultant or can Rhett and bring him in as OC.

That's what I see happening.

The chatter I've heard is that Gus is giving Lashlee the reigns to either sink so they can replace him (with Briles or son) or swim off to another job and replace him (with Briles or son).

Barring a disaster the the rest of the season, I think Gus will be back.

So are you pretty confident Auburn won't hire Briles in any capacity?

I don't care if they hire Briles at OC or a consultant of some capacity. He does not dictate the program at that position nor set the culture. It is apparent Malzahn runs a clean program, so I would not be concerned about it.
