Meh, class ranking are sometimes overblown. If you fill "needs", then it is a good class. If you are just recruiting *'s for the sake of recruiting them, that's a bad class. Chiz used to have high class ranking every year, the problem was......we would sign nothing at positions of great need.

I've been telling people for years that McELwain was garbage. He has some of the most conservative, vanilla offensive schemes in all of college football. Of course I'm one of the few Bama fans who always tells it as it is instead of licking the asses of mediocre players/coaches.

He's a great coach. I hope you keep him for a really long time.

Considering he's won with Harris (a slot receiver playing quarterback) and Del Rio who apparently is god awful, I'm surprised we have the best record in the East.

Obviously that is going to change pretty roughly soon, but he's had almost nothing to work with on offense. Our Right Guard was playing Center in the Arkansas game.

Not yet. Maybe should fire Nuss. But he better fix recruiting somehow, maybe via staff changes.

Nuss probably sucks, but without a quarterback we're gonna be fricked no matter what.

Do you fire the coach for obvious shortcomings caused by a lack of recruiting from the predecesor (even though he won the East last year with it)? We had three true freshmen on the line in rotation, one upper classmen running back, literally one Quarterback who was a redshirt freshmen (Treon Harris was not a quarterback) and no kicker.

I'm tired of this "complex" pro style bullshite. There's a reason most teams tossed it in the trash a decade ago. Hell, its so anti-Florida to play this ultra conservative run the ball and nickel and dime people offense.

Also if the next guy is yet another Saban tree loser we should just buy him out and start the search again-- its like hiring Belicheck Coaches in the NFL.

I wouldn't fire him but I'm pretty disappointed in his recruiting. I was hoping he'd be able to pull top 5 classes.

What is? No, I'm serious-- it's obviously not offense, he's not a defensive guy, and our special teams are really good but that seems more recruit dependent.

He was such a stupid hire to begin with- lousy recruiter who had been fired the previous two seasons. McElwain could probably afford to make a guy like Damieyune Craig OC and just call most of the plays himself.

The main problem is the type of offense he chooses to run, and the lack of a decent qd to run it.
With all the speed in this state UF should recruit a qb like Louisville's or Bama's. And we should run a spread type offense. The athletes in this state are more suited for the spread than a pro style.
He had an ok qb with Grier, but he wanted Del Rio. Del Rio belongs in the MAC, he has zero athletic ability.
Another problem is old arse Mike Summers needs to go away, and take Nussmeier with him.
If he runs Del Rio out against SC next week then I believe he's an idiot. Play one of the freshmen and see what we've got for next season. Appleby is gone next season, and Del Rio flat out sucks. You can't win with him against a decent team.

I'm not ready to fire him personally. I would like to see more consistency in the product put on the field. I don't think the Offense has an identity and the Defense isn't much further along.

The game yesterday showed me that the coaches didn't make any adjustments on either side of the ball.

The Defense was not getting off the blocks or and causing very little disruption. LB's and backs didn't play well either. Is that the coaches or the players? Don't know.

The Offense couldn't do crap. No passing and no running game. The Qb looks like he doesn't grasp the Concept and/or the speed needed to play in this league.

I'm not a coach but dang it's frustrating to see this product on the field. Hopefully things will get corrected.

I would have never hired the unprofessional prick. I've hated that SOB since game 1.
