If they didn't they may as well disband the committee.

Man lots of dumb in that post.
You act like CFB teams that are 8-4 are getting in over teams that are 11-1.
Every game doesn't count when you can go 7-9 and get a home playoff game. STFU

This. The NFL's system is not perfect.
The best CFB playoff system would be an 8 team playoff with the Power 5 champions each getting a spot and 3 at large bids.

You should. Acting like the NFL doesn't have it's flaws when 7-9 teams get to host playoff games while 10 win teams don't even get in is ignorant.

Bama would be more likely to get in.

I still like this. I know some say eight are too many, but I think if you look at the last few years, those would have been some awesome matchups to get to the final game.

And just what in the hell is your logic ? Remember this idiot committee is supposed to only "consider" conference champions, that doesn't mean they "have to" supersede everything else, since when in the history of college football has a 2 loss team been ranked ahead of a one loss team in ANY POLL, especially when one plays a much tougher schedule OOC and in conference...Wisc. out and Tenn. vs Vandy in the crossover game every year. It is funny as hell that you guys actually think the conference champion has to be ranked higher even with two losses, even though there is no rule stating that. The agreed upon considerations are that conference champions would be given extra consideratins, sorry, two loss teams do not trump one loss teams, especially with an inferrior stregth of schedule. You guys have gone bonkers over the word "consideration" which should have never been a part of the process seeing as Notre Dame and others are not in conferences. The 4 best teams under the old system is what should have happened, but the pussies in the Big Ten wanted welfare. A two loss Ole Miss will not trump a one loss Bama. That is idiotic. A two loss team is better than a one loss team.
there is so much wrong with the way you think, I don't know where to start

Changing the playoff format is a bad idea. Get rid of either the big 12 or acc and have 4 power conferences with 4 divisions each. That expands the playoff without diminishing the regular season. At the end of the year the 4 champions represent each conference.

Ole Miss would really have to frick LSU and Florida up
Good point the same way Ohio State ran train on its opponents late last year.
The playoffs should be 8 teams without a doubt.

Nope. The committee watched that game and knows bama handed that game to ole miss on a silver platter.

No.
Memphis.
Why does this question keep getting asked.

Would Committee select two-loss Ole Miss over one-loss Alabama if Ole miss win the SEC championship?
I think it's in the realm of possibility...if there's chaos in a couple of the other Power 5 conferences and Memphis finishes the season with 1 loss (with no conference championship) but still highly rated, Ole Miss might look pretty good in the above scenario. They will have avenged their loss to UF in the SECCG, they will have beaten both Bama and LSU, and their other loss would be to a ranked team...
Seems to me Ole Miss would have a couple of things over Bama: 1, a conference championship, and 2, a head-to-head win...and judging from last year, the play-off committee seems to place high priority on both...

A 2 loss LSU went to BCS national championship game back when they only picked 2, so why not? Especially if the'y redeem their worst loss in last game before selection. Not likely though.

It's infinitely more likely that Ole Miss loses to Florida and Florida goes to the playoff.
The scenario for Ole Miss to beat:
Arky
MSU
LSU
Florida
all in a row, is insane.
Not sure why anyone is worried about this.
The more likely scenarios are:
Alabama beats LSU and wins against Florida, Alabama in CFP
LSU goes undefeated and wins against Florida, LSU in CFP
Alabama beats LSU, loses to Florida, Florida in CFP
LSU beats Alabama loses to Florida, Florida in CFP
Ole Miss beats LSU, loses to Florida, Florida in CFP
Ole Miss beats LSU, wins against Florida, Ole Miss left out
Now that could change if Florida loses to FSU, but I doubt that happens.
Either way, the most likely scenarios are the first two.
