Inferior Schedule? We both play all of the west teams, and we played Florida in the East who will be the SEC East Champs. We also played a Memphis team that is currently in the top 20 and undefeated. What inferior schedule are you referring to. Also, your quote about not taking the best team? We beat y'all in Tuscaloosa without the best offensive lineman in college football, please use some part of your brain when making these posts.

Do they deserve to get in over Ole Miss ? That is the damn question. I was never n favor of a stupid committee to start with. The old system was far better.

Agree

Just the fact they you think the word consider conference champs means that a 2 loss team trumps a 1 loss team is idiotic.

I don't think them being conference champs is the only reason. The head-to-head win over Bama and, in this case, rematch win over UF in the SECCG would have to be considered.

OM would be more deserving.

quote:

No lets not take the best team, thats your stupid locgic.

If OM has 2 losses and Bama has 1, OM has proven to be the better team on the field by beating Bama. They just had a touger schedule and didn't navigate it.

How dumb are you?

quote:

College football has always been about taking the best teams, and if we have gtten to the point inferior teams are taken of better teams then we need to tear the fricken system dowN and start over !!

Once again, OM has proven they are better than Bama.

Two loss team over a one loss team with an inferior schedule.

In this instance, OM's schedule is much better than Bama's.

LMAO...STUIPD

I hope you're talking about yourself. You're entire argument is "HURR Bama da best".

Probably not. That scenario would have Ole Miss beating LSU.

In addition, it would mean that Ole Miss came back and beat the only SEC team to beat them in the regular season.

Either Ole Miss would go, or no SEC team would go.

Neither of them gets picked, in that scenario.

If Ole Miss won out and beat Arkansas, LSU, won the Egg Bowl on the road AND got payback against Florida in the SEC championship game becoming the SEC Champ. Yes, Ole Miss would go in over a one loss Bama.

Memphis has a legit shot to go undefeated. If they do, and OM wins the SEC, Memphis may get the 4th playoff spot.

Both Memphis and Notre Dame have a shot. If they both get in, that will be 3 out of 5 Power5 conference champions not going to the playoff.

I'm pretty sure, we'd see an 8 team playoff in 2016 if this happened.

No, they got their azz handed to them by Memphis, and Florida blew them out. 2 azz kickings, not just losses=outside looking in. Doesnt matter, their gonna lose 2 out of the last 3 games anyway.

This is what would actually happen, if OM were to win the SEC.

tOSU
Michigan State
TCU
Baylor
Stanford
Clemson
Notre Dame

Could all finish with 1 loss or fewer.

Then you have Memphis as a wildcard. If they go undefeated they will make some noise in the selection process.

Ole Miss is out unless the other conferences really start wetting the bed.

People forget that the BIG 12 has not solved their "No Championship Game" issue.

The other issue is that none of the good teams from the BIG 12 play anyone decent out of conference, so it makes it impossible for the committee to truly evaluate that league.

You have four teams that will be in the Top 20 when the initial rankings come out tonight. Here are those 4 teams along with their non-conference slate:

Baylor: SMU, Lamar, Rice
TCU: SMU, Minnesota, Stephen F. Austin
OK State: Central Michigan, Central Arkansas, UTSA
Oklahoma: Akron, Tennessee, Tulsa

So how do we know if the TCU/Baylor/OK State are the three best teams in America, battling it out for their league title.... of if they are three teams that are all truly not even in the Top 10, but because they never stepped out of conference to play anyone, they look pretty good?

Oklahoma needed a furious comeback to beat the 8th best SEC team (Tennessee) by a touchdown. TCU was only able to beat the 8th best BIG 10 team (Minnesota) by 6 points.

The 5th best team in the BIG 12 (Iowa State) lost to both Iowa and Toledo out of conference.

The 6th best team in the BIG 12 (Texas) lost to Cal and Notre Dame (by 35 points).

How is the committee to know if TCU/Baylor/OK State are #1, #2, & #3 in the country, or if they are actually #16, #17, and #18 in the country? It might just be the latter. But who would ever know?

I think the committee might make an example out of the BIG 12 yet again this year. They need to 1) Get a Championship Game, and 2) Play some decent folks out of conference. If you don't do that, you're going to continue to miss the playoff.

Atleast the American stepped out of conference and is proving themselvs. Memphis beat Ole Miss. Temple took Notre Dame to the wire. Cincinnati beat Miami.

While Vandy is not very good, Houston beat them as bad or worse than most SEC teams have this year.

How can anyone at this point say with certainty that the BIG12 is better than the American?

They would probably end up selecting Memphis over either team. I know that sounds weird but their a head to head match up.

Ole Miss Don't win the SEC. We don't really want to find out

I'm not talking about some redshirt freshman who was on team but didn't even travel to TTown in 2011, yet alone play in the game. I'm saying no player on your team has made a single on field contribution to beating Bama. That may very well change on Saturday, but as of right now it's still fact
