I'll stick with 500 points. And we only gave up 144.

Mcelroy > jefferson. Mcelroy was an average college QB. And he can atleast stay on an NFL roster. jefferson couldnt stay on the roster of the arena football leagues worst offensive team.

For all the people saying Barker, you are aware he won the Johnny Unitas Award and finished #5 in the Heisman voting his senior year right? He was drafted and played in the NFL for 2-3 years (on the bench of course).

While that's not particularly impressive, it's a pretty strong indication he wasn't the worst ever. Obviously he was much worse in 92 than in 94. People seem fixated on his lackluster year during the title run than when he was pretty dang good by the end of his career.

I read the question to be asking the worst quarterback to win an SEC title at the time he won it. Obviously, Barker went on to a very successful career. At the time he won it in 1992, Barker was a very shaky QB.

I did acknowledge in my original post that he was a very good QB as a senior.

Jefferson was not nearly as bad as people think he was. Not saying he was a great QB by any stretch but he had his moments and was not a bad QB at all most of the time.

he went out on a bad one and every lsu fan wants to tear him apart for idk, winning dozens of games for the team???

LSU won the Championship game in spite of him.

I'd say Lee did more to win the SEC that year.

You're not suggesting that fan disdain for Jefferson's play stems primarily from 1/9 I hope, bc that would be completely dishonest.

Jefferson should be given some kind of special praise because the team had relatively successful seasons while he played? Football is a team game and at the college level, lots of games can be won with poor quarterbacks. His performance should be judged on it's own merits. He was not a good quarterback.

Went out on a bad one? I can count on one hand how man games we won because of HIM. Wit the talent he had we should have won atleast one ship in his tenure.

You can stick with whatever you want chief. However, don't try to "correct" someone's numbers when you can't even count how many fricking games you played.

I think Barker threw 1 pick 6 his entire career.

Zow was good for one every other game.

I was curious about this, and a little bored, so I checked.

Zow threw 4 pick 6s in his career. That's in 852 attempts. And only once, in '00 against UCF, did Bama lose a game in which he threw one.

I wonder what it is about Zow that makes you hate him so.

If this thread wasn't started by a Mizzou fan I would think it was a masterful attempt to troll us LSU fans on our terrible QB play.

... But the answer is still Jefferson.

2 wins vs. Bama is 2 more than a lot of QBs ever get.
