The guy is 3rd all time in passing yards and 4th in TD's in the conference, pretty sure there are far worse QBs that have won the SEC.
About time someone in here posted FACTS.

Jefferson was not nearly as bad as people think he was. Not saying he was a great QB by any stretch but he had his moments and was not a bad QB at all most of the time.
You've got to be kidding. He held onto the ball, lacked anticipation, and could basically throw laser beams to open receivers. He was terrible except for running the read and hitting straight throws and bombs. He was better than Hatch and Randall but he was a huge detriment to some pretty damn good teams we had during his career. He protected the ball better than Lee initially, but the trade off was an inefficient passing game and predictable offense.
He was extremely frustrating to watch. Can't see how any other person who watched his career consistently could see it any other way. His legs hid how bad of a passer he really was. It wasn't hard for teams to gameplan for a Jefferson led offense.

For all the people saying Barker, you are aware he won the Johnny Unitas Award and finished #5 in the Heisman voting his senior year right? He was drafted and played in the NFL for 2-3 years (on the bench of course).
While that's not particularly impressive, it's a pretty strong indication he wasn't the worst ever. Obviously he was much worse in 92 than in 94. People seem fixated on his lackluster year during the title run than when he was pretty dang good by the end of his career.
I mean, if you talk pre-SEC championship era there are a tons of wtf QB's.

I mean Andrew Zow was the worst Alabama QB to win one in terms of full career.
For example, this guy won an SEC title and an MNC, and barely made a dent statistically:

That doesn't mean shite. DJ Hall was statistically and career wise the best WR in Alabama history up until 2010. DJ. Hall. Records don't mean anything. Just ask JPW that, if Saban hadn't come along, he wouldn't have won ANYTHING. No West title at all,
So yes, Andrew Zow was a very mediocre QB and one of the worst. For every 1 great play he made, 2 bad ones immediately followed unless he was just having the game of his life.

It's hard to compare Alabama's modern QB's to the older ones.
Alabama has always been a run first, play great defense type team. Heck this legacy still persists today. It really has only been since Stallings retired that Alabama QB's have actually tossed the ball around a good bit.

Perhaps it was the 3 seasons he finished 7-10th in every passing category... except his last season he finished 3rd in most ints thrown.

Worst Quarterback To Win An SEC Title?

Fun Fact: The 2011 LSU team averaged 35.7 points a game with Jefferson/Lee at QB. Crazy.
Technically, they averaged 30.9 ppg with Jefferson/Lee.
Incorrect. 2011 LSU scored an even 500 points, 63 of which were not offensive. 437 points/13 games = 34 points/per game. 500 total/13 games =38 ppg.

Didn't LSU play 14 games in 2011?

I think Barker threw 1 pick 6 his entire career.
Zow was good for one every other game.

First, you played 14 games in 2011. Just because you didn't score in the championship game doesn't mean you can erase it from a game played.
Second, Mettenburger threw one TD. The poster clearly stated Jefferson/Lee.
20 TD passes
35 TD runs
16 FGs
1 missed XP
432 total points
30.9 ppg
