Man, this is like saying let's talk about who the hottest woman in the world is. I say just show me!!!! Pics or GTFO!!!

I could look at pictures of ball fields and golf courses all day long. Plus, I love seeing where Mizzou needs to get to. Right now, Simmons Field is pretty depressing.

That truly is depressing for someone who loves baseball. My son's high school team has better grass and probably a better overall field.

So don't tell me you can't have nice grass and field way up here up north. It just takes some $$$ and a whole lot of TLC.

You talking atmosphere; then Ole Miss, LSU and MSU are top 3. You talking "nicest", you got to go LSU, USC, OM, and A&M. Alabama is not even in the discussion since their stadium was bulldozed. Our stadium is being considered for a razing and building something that all of you will wish you had.

I'm not even gonna try and defend on this one and I actually disagree. Cliff is 14 and not a spot higher.

UK has the spot picked out, but they need to release the plans for the new stadium asap. I've been waiting for years for a new stadium and got squat.

The SEC really does have some nice parks. Those top tier ones are better than a number of minor league parks and are as good as the nicer ones.

Even better now that some of the Eastern teams besides us are starting to put money into them.

I laughed at the rendering of our latest "upgrade" vs the finished product. There was supposed to be a brick facade training facility down the 3rd base line and in reality they put up a pole barn.

And the grass...yeah

Should have just built a new one instead of spending one some trying to renovate that pig. Maybe Scherzer has a few extra dollars he could kick in.

Considering Sewell-Thomas is currently non-functional due to renovations, I don't think it is fair to rank it.

Yep. State's new stadium is going to change college baseball by stepping up the arms race. If you are a fan of college baseball, you have to love what MSU is doing.

Is it fair to include teams that feature nothing but chair back seats and no bleachers? Baum auto #1.

Yeah, that's going to be amazing. Thinking about this from an Arkansas perspective, there's so much room in our outfield to do more cool stuff. It'll be interesting to see how we keep pace with MSU.

Will be far and away number one in a few years. Their stadium is going to be stupid nice after the planned upgrades.

lulz ... so Carolina Stadium, one of the nicest stadiums in the country and well-known for it's incredible college baseball friendly atmosphere ... has no atmosphere.

Trust me - you're wrong. I've been to every stadium in the conference except for A&M and Mizzou and Carolina Stadium's atmosphere is a good as anyone's, better than most.

You can start behind home plate and walk down the first base line, as a fan, and walk completely around the field and back to home plate without every having to leave sight of the game ... and many people do, with mixed drinks in their hands. It's like a parade of people, tradition, pomp and circumstance. It's not stop seeing other Gamecock athletes there for the show, seeing former athletes, celebrities, fine women .... great food.

I was gonna stay outta this thread until I saw that claim of yours.

I was going to games at Dudy Noble in the 80s ... it's a great park with a great tradition and it is about to get really good. But don't be an "atmosphere" snob like the liberal bitches are intellectual snobs. It's very unbecoming of SEC college baseball fans.

Most of our places have great atmospheres. I'm partial to SCAR's, LSU's, Ole Miss' and MSU's AND, when it is not snowing or raining when I've been there .... Arkansas'. I know Ray was never crazy about the turf there at Baum, but he always liked the general layout of the place and that's probably why our's looks very much like theirs to some degree ... except we have palm trees and natural turf that looks like Augusta National in March.

I like UGA's old place too, but it always felt cramped to me - yet the fans were fine. Never cared much for the stadium or atmosphere in Gainesville and never have understood why their fans don't support it more than they do. Knoxville, when Delmonico was up there, he had it going-on. And I like the stadium renovations - all the brick work looks great and the seats are much better than they used to be. Vandy, not a great Venue or location ... the whole downtown thing doesn't have a SEC feel especially with the big parking garage right there beside it ... but their fans are finally getting into it although they'll never compete for attendance records and that has much to do with atmosphere, if we really want to talk atmosphere. Auburn has a beautiful park - a lot of fans show up for our games and when Bama and LSU come to town I hear. We like to call Auburn's place "The Cock" because we have a pretty good record over there and a lot of us make the trip. When my daughter was still in the TV business and reporting out of Phenix City for a Columbus station she came over and did a special report when we came to town and I got to call Plainsman "The Cock" on TV down there ... lol. Bama's place, which us Gamecock road warriors refer to as "The Tommy Joe" is gonna be nice I hear. It was way past due. Back in the 90s that place was tough to play in and I used to hate going there .... but gradually it just sort of melted away and I was really disappointed the last couple of times I was there.

Who did I forget? Anyone?

I'm hoping to get to A&M's place and Mizzou's place over the course of the next couple of seasons if God is willing and the creek don't rise. I think A&M has a lot of potential to be a major player in SEC baseball in the future. They were out here for a game, I can't remember if it was regular season or a regional maybe .... but we really enjoyed their fans. They were good college baseball fans.

Leave the outfield alone. The GA cookouts and bringing in coolers is one of my favorite things about Baum.
