The offense was good. You did not stop it and neither did we.

Pay attention to the actual games bro.

Let's see

Holland vs Flowers, Frost, Swain and add Garrett, McKinzy at the Star Position. Not to mention 5 star recruit Tre Williams.

Most AU fans knew AU would have problems on Defense last year, if EJ had to start Holland.

Probably not. Auburn was one dimensional last year and teams have a very difficult time shutting down their offense. This year they return a starting QB for the first time since Brandon Cox and add NFL talent at the Wr position. I expect Auburn to have a more balance offense this year and be even more unpredictable

This is pretty much everything I was going to say.

Getting Holsey back will be huge also, IMO.

None of these guys have proven to be very good. I don't see the major upgrade.

Still a true freshman. Auburn may very well have better linebacker play this year, but I doubt it's enough to make your defense twice as good as it was last year.

Kris Frost is now playing outside linebacker, while Cass McKinzy is playing middle linebacker (not STAR). Anthony Swain backs up the outside linebacker, and Justin Garrett backs up Robenson Therezie at STAR.

You will see the first game of the season. Get back to me on our D after that game.

Like I said earlier, there were lots of missed assignment's. I re-watched the IB last night. Our D played great......except for the long busted plays we gave up because of missed assignment's. Same thing goes for the NC game.

Cass McKinzy was one of the best linebackers in the SEC last season, and Kris Frost played the majority of the season towards the end. Jake Holland was one of the worst linebacker to ever come through college football and will be easily replaced by someone superior.

I'm trying to legitimately discuss your linebacker situation. No need to resort to these kinds of posts.

So can you answer the question seriously without the snark?

Not really, he was good but didn't even get all-SEC honorable mention.

Our D improved throughout the course of the season. It was the first year of a new scheme, but busted assignment's bit us in the arse at horrible times. Now that coaches can spend two hours a week during the summer, and with the spring and upcoming fall practices, I expect a much improved D. Ellis Johnson is a damn good DC. Auburn has talent. I have stated we will be better. You want to use last year as reason why we won't improve. Sorry, that makes no sense.

The Auburn offense isnt unstoppable. That offense was good because they had good players running it.

The combination of player losses and coaches being better prepared this season will slow it down.

Where did I say that?

The reason I don't think your defense improves is because you lost your best players on defense. People think A&M's offense will take a dip this year because they lost Manziel and Evans. It's really not that crazy to think that Auburn's defense could regress after losing Ford and Davis.

He was a true sophomore and relatively unknown by the rest of the SEC at the beginning of the 2013 season. He had an outstanding game as a true freshman, in the only game he started, against Vandy with 12 tackles, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery. Last year he accounted for 75 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 2 sacks and 6 quarterback hurries.

He also missed some time due to injury, which was first thought to be a cervical neck injury.

Cass McKinzy was one of the best in the SEC last year, and the same will be true this year...

SEC coaches have seen Gus Malzahn offenses since he was in the league in 2006, 2009, 2010, 2011, and now 2013. That's 4 years of tape even before the 2013 season. This excuse is old and played out.

Also, Auburn may have lost Greg Robinson, Tre Mason and Jay Prosch, but each will be replaced. Running back has never been a problem for Auburn, and will not be this year. Shon Coleman will replace Greg Robinson. Brandon Fulse, out best blocking tight end, will replace Jay Prosch.

AUs Defense was not built around Ford or Davis. It is designed around the LBs and the Star position. Manziel and Evans were the A&M Offense.

They may figure out 2013's offense but Malzahn has a very dynamic offensive mind and adjusts to fit his players so it probably won't help.

Barring any coaching changes Auburn is going to be very scary for years to come. Malzahn and Ellis Johnson are a powerful pairing, maybe the best combination in CFB at the moment.
