Kiffin said they were as talented. He did NOT say they were better. Get it right Barners you're twisting words. NFL talent is no different than what Kiffin said. If they are so good what team could they play on? See how it is when it is turned back on you?

I copied and pasted his exact tweet.

Even for a Gump.

Alabama potentially has a chance to be better in the secondary. Bama has experience coming back at safety and the people playing at corner have gotten some experience, with the exception of two 5 star young corners. One who went through the spring. After having seen them at the spring game,I am optimistic that we will be better back there.

They won't be consistently better but they are more talented. The LBs should be good again and the DL is better IMO.

You aren't adding much
What? Really?

You only signed two linebackers in this class, a position you guys keep saying is vital to your defense.
Probably because we only use 2 linebacker in our base 4-2-5 defense... Also, we already have enough depth there and only lost Jake Holland.
quote:

What else are you adding to the defense?
Derrick Moncrief is an immediate starter at safety, allowing us to kick Josh Holsey back into cornerback with John Mincy, Jonathan Jones and others (Josh Holsey played cornerback in 2012). Devonte Lambert is an immediate starter or rotational player on the defensive line. Both of these players were two of the best junior college players.

All but two meaningful players return for Auburn's defense, and only one will be truly missed in Dee Ford.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see, Auburn's defense very well could be better next year.

It more than likely will, but I'm not saying it will be leaps and bounds better.

Show me where Kiffin said our backs are better than NFL backs. The word better was not used. He said they have as much ability. Look up that word in the dictionary.
I will use Duke Williams once again as an example.
You boys are very high on him and expect him to step right in and play at a high level. Now No Aub has addressed why that is when I have asked it.
Alabama's RB's are playing at a level of competition surpassed only by the NFL. Williams last year played at a level of competition probably a couple levels beneath that of Auburn. A fair comparison I would think.

I think they probably will be. Ellis Johnson is a good DC.

I expect to give up more big plays because there's lots of youth. But the talent may be better than Milliner/Kirkpatrick. We will just have growing pains like 2010.

We hear it every year from Bama Fans, but I think the bama secondary has been their weakness the last 5 years. They have been able to cover it up due to the lack of QB play in the SEC. JFF, Cam, Murry and OU QB was about to expose them.

Why are you even defending this? I assume everything he says is hyperbole. There is so much more from his speech in Mobile that was just as extreme.

The 2015 Auburn defense has a chance to be a monster, they will be loaded with upperclassmen.

And I can counter with Auburn's D giving up a country mile and tons of points in their last 3 games.

The EXACT tweet...

@jimdunaway: Non-Saban comments RT @TheMikeHerndon: Lane Kiffin on Yeldon/Henry/Drake: “There probably aren’t 3 more talented HB in the NFL on a roster"

3 more talented = there aren't three better

ability = talent

Spin away gump.

Why? Because what he said was very likely the truth, and these boys know it.

Okay, guy. A 2011 secondary that had three future first rounders just never got around to getting exposed. I offer a realistic look at what will happen, but that's not enough? You want to hear me say Alabama will be 3-9 this year?
